Supergirl: The Remake
FADE IN:
EXT. DESERT - NIGHT
An endless patch of desert. Full moon above. Not a cloud in
the sky.
We hear dogs BARKING in the distance.
A man comes running up a low dune. The man is slim, tall,
late twenties, British, Billy Idol hair, wears jeans and a
dirty T-shirt. If this was Buffy you'd call him Spike, but
it isn't, so call him NIGEL BANKS.
As Nigel runs past us, we see a dozen flashlights searching
the landscape behind him. A couple of police cruisers are
parked in the distance.
The BARKING gets louder as the flashlights approach.
Nigel constantly turns around to check if the cops are
getting closer.
NIGEL
(to himself)
Damn pigs.
We catch a faint glimpse of light ahead. Nigel turns to it,
puzzled. He thinks about it for a moment, then heads for the
source of the glint.
Buried under the sand is the OMEGAHEDRON, a round sphere,
three inches in diameter, with an odd, lighted, ever-
changing pattern that looks like a Rorschach ink blot.
NIGEL (CONT'D)
And what might you be, little
fella? Are you valuable?
Nigel picks up the Omegahedron, and as soon as his finger
touches it, the world changes around him: everything looks
like noon but with no shadows. Everything is visible, even
what should be hidden by then terrain. Everything looks odd,
though, like the colors are wrong.
NIGEL (CONT'D)
What the...?
(to the Omegahedron)
Are you doing this, little shiny
ball?
He drops the Omegahedron and the world turns back to normal.
He picks it up, and again the world is noon without shadows.
NIGEL (CONT'D)
Indeed you are. Wow.

He focuses on the world around him, and what he focuses on
changes. He looks at a plant, and it turns bluish, as if
highlighted, then the various inner parts of the plant
become visible.
He looks behind himself and sees a dark-blue mist (his own
smell) leading back to where he came from. He sees the dogs
in the distance; they are following the dark-blue mist.
NIGEL (CONT'D)
Mental note: always bathe before
being chased by police dogs.
He waves at the mist, moving it away. Then he realizes he
can move the mist without moving his hand. He chuckles. The
mist keeps on moving away from him, leading the dogs in the
wrong direction.
He watches with a smirk as the cops follow the dogs to the
wrong place.
NIGEL (CONT'D)
(kisses the Omegahedron)
How does the line go? "This might
be the beginning of a beautiful
friendship"?
INT. ETHAN'S TRUCK - NIGHT
The pickup truck cruises through a different part of the
same desert. ETHAN VOIT, early twenties, drives, listening
to some music.
Ethan opens a small cooler wedged between the seats. One
beer left. He picks it up, opens it, takes a gulp.
A shooting star crosses the night sky. Ethan stares at it.
ETHAN
I'm supposed to make a wish, right?
He thinks about it, glances at the empty cooler.
ETHAN (CONT'D)
Nah. Too trivial. How about...
EXT. SKY ABOVE THE DESERT - NIGHT
We see the shooting star as it falls down to Earth. It's a
spacecraft. Cigar shaped. Twelve feet long. It's falling
apart as it plummets to the ground.
A moment later, the spacecraft crashes onto the ground at a
45 degree angle, creating a large chasm and digging itself
into the ground.

Ten seconds go by, then a large piece of metal shoots 50
feet into the air. It's the spacecraft's hatch. Five seconds
later, the hatch falls back to the ground.
Then an arm comes out from the crater. Something is trying
to crawl its way out of the wreckage. A female something.
Her arm covered by a blue fabric all the way to the wrist.
INT. ETHAN'S TRUCK - MINUTES LATER
Ethan hums along the music on the radio, then catches a
glimpse of someone walking on the dirt road ahead of him.
Someone with a long red cape.
The pickup passes the figure. Ethan stops, then backs up
until we see the woman through the passenger's window.
The woman is SUPERGIRL, looking dazed, confused and badly
hurt. There's blood coming down the left side of her face.
Ethan quickly gets out of the car and rounds it. He notices
Supergirl's costume but makes nothing of it.
She leans weakly against the truck, cradling her left arm.
Her eyes look unfocused.
ETHAN
Are you okay?
SUPERGIRL
(weakly)
I don't think so.
He opens the passenger's door and helps her in. Then rounds
the truck and gets in himself. He stares at the blood on her
face.
ETHAN
That looks nasty.
He takes his hanky, opens the cooler and drenches the hanky
in the cold water. Then wrings it and applies to her face.
She reacts to the cold.
ETHAN
Sorry, did I hurt you?
SUPERGIRL
No. It's just cold. It surprised
me. But it feels good.
He cleans her face and her hair, continuously rinsing the
hanky. When she's clean, he leaves the cold hanky on her
forehead.

ETHAN
I can't find the wound.
SUPERGIRL
It already healed.
ETHAN
At least you're not bleeding
anymore. How does your head feel?
SUPERGIRL
Hurts. A lot. Feel dizzy. Can't
focus. I think I have a concussion.
ETHAN
What about your arm?
SUPERGIRL
Broken. I'm not very strong yet.
Barely survived the crash.
ETHAN
Okay, here's what we're going to
do. I got a cabin about 15
minutes back. I'll take you there,
patch up your arm and head, and
then I'll take you to the
hospital in Midvale. Is that all
right with you?
SUPERGIRL
Yes. Thanks. I appreciate it.
Ethan starts the truck. Makes a U-turn, and drives the way
he came.
Supergirl slumps on the seat, closes her eyes.
ETHAN
No, don't fall asleep. It's
dangerous to sleep when you have
a concussion.
SUPERGIRL
I'm so tired. I don't think I can
stay awake.
ETHAN
I'll help you. We'll talk. That
should keep you awake. By the way,
I'm Ethan Voit. What's your name?
SUPERGIRL
Kara.

ETHAN
Are you from around here?
SUPERGIRL
No.
MINUTES LATER
Almost fifteen minutes have passed. Supergirl doesn't look
dazed anymore. She just looks tired. And she isn't cradling
her left arm anymore.
ETHAN
... so grandpa spent the last
twenty years of his life in his
cabin, looking for anything
valuable in the ground. I mean,
you name it -- oil, gold ,
diamonds -- grandpa spent years
digging for it. And he never
found anything. Well, he found
water, but nothing else.
SUPERGIRL
That's sad.
ETHAN
Sure. But like my mom used to say:
this is either the story of the
sorriest, saddest man in the
planet, who wasted twenty years
of his life chasing a dream he'd
never catch. Or the story of the
happiest man on Earth, who lived
every second of his life in
absolute bliss, with the
certainty that the next day he
was going to catch his dream.
SUPERGIRL
I love the way you tell the story.
It's a nice story.
The truck approaches a small cabin in the middle of nowhere.
ETHAN
Thanks. Well, here we are. The
infamous grandpa's cabin. Hope
you're not disappointed.
SUPERGIRL
Not at all.
Ethan parks the truck.

ETHAN
Let me start the generator. Then
I'll help you out.
SUPERGIRL
Okay.
He gets out of the truck and walks behind the cabin.
Supergirl looks at the door, tries to open it but can't
(it's locked). She looks at the open door and figures the
mechanism, then unlocks her door and opens it. Then she gets
out of the truck.
We hear the sound of a motor starting (the generator), and a
moment later Ethan walks back.
ETHAN
Let me help you.
SUPERGIRL
I'm okay now. My head feels much
better and my arm already healed.
I'm just tired.
ETHAN
Well, come in. I'll give you a
checkup anyway.
INT. GRANDPA'S CABIN
Ethan unlocks the door and opens it. Supergirl enters,
eyeing the inside curiously. He follows her in and closes
the door.
ETHAN
Please sit down.
(motions to chair)
I'm going to get a flashlight to
check if you really have a
concussion.
SUPERGIRL
I think the concussion's gone.
ETHAN
We'll know for sure in a moment.
She sits down on a chair, while he disappears into the next
room. A moment later he comes back with the flashlight. Then
he checks her pupil's reactions to the light. She reacts
normally.
ETHAN
That makes it official. You don't
have a concussion.
7.
SUPERGIRL
Does it mean I can sleep now?
ETHAN
Sure. But let me check your arm
first.
SUPERGIRL
The arm isn't broken anymore.
Ethan checks her arm. She seems to enjoy it.
ETHAN
Wow, you must workout a lot.
(beat, continues checking)
Good, it wasn't broken. Do you
still want me to drive you to the
hospital?
SUPERGIRL
No, thanks. I just need to sleep
now. I would appreciate if you
could show me where I can sleep.
ETHAN
You can sleep in grandpa's bed.
(smiles)
Unless you're scared of grandpa's
ghost.
SUPERGIRL
(smiles)
I don't scare easily.
He leads her to the next room.
INT. GRANDPA'S ROOM
There's a bed with a bare mattress and a couple of pillows.
Ethan goes to the closet and opens it.
ETHAN
I think I have some clean sheets
somewhere.
Supergirl lies down on the bed and falls asleep the instant
her head touches the pillow.
He stares at her for a moment, then picks up a blanket from
the closet and covers her with it.
INT. ZOR-EL'S HOUSE - ARGO CITY - DAY - FLASHBACK
Kara, in her Kryptonian clothes, sits on the couch in the
living room of her house in Argo City. She reads a book.
8.
The front door bursts open, Zaltar comes in and closes it
behind him.
KARA
(smiles)
Zaltar!
ZALTAR
Quiet, my dear. I'm a wanted
criminal.
Alura and Zor-El enter the room. They both look surprised to
see Zaltar here. Kara looks happy.
ZOR-EL
Zaltar, what are you doing here?
Alura hugs Zaltar.
ALURA
Please, tell me they are lies.
ZALTAR
What? That I tried to kill the
whole council and take over Argo
City? Of course they're lies.
ZOR-EL
It was Brakko, right?
ZALTAR
Who else? I found out some
personal information about him
that he didn't want me to make
public -- namely the fact that he
has grown fond of the tales of
your nephew's powers on Earth and
he'd like to try them himself,
and take over the planet while
he's at it.
KARA
Kal-El will stop him.
ZALTAR
If Brakko was planning to go
alone, that might be a safe bet.
But he's planning to take an army
with him. And just in case that's
not enough or we decide to send
an army of our own, he decided to
build this --
Zaltar takes to Omegahedron out of his pocket and shows it
to them. It isn't shining right now (it's not active yet).

ZALTAR (CONT'D)
He calls it the Omegahedron. It's
a weapon capable of altering the
space-time continuum or something.
This one's just a prototype. The
real thing is supposedly powerful
enough to take on an army of
Kryptonians on Earth. I destroyed
the blueprints, but that'd only
delay his plans for a few months.
ALURA
We have to stop him.
ZALTAR
Certainly. Here.
Zaltar gives the Omegahedron to Zor-El.
ZALTAR (CONT'D)
You must hide it. It's the only
evidence left of his plan.
ZOR-EL
I'll schedule a council meeting
immediately.
ZALTAR
No, no. That was my mistake. I
was too harsh. Too many councilmen
are afraid of Brakko or on his
payroll. You must move slowly and
carefully. Find out who your real
allies are before you make your
move. And above all, don't let
him get his hands on the Omegahedron.
ZOR-EL
All right. I'll do as you say.
ZALTAR
Now you have to turn me in.
ZOR-EL
What? I can't do that.
ZALTAR
You have to. You're known to
everyone as a man of honor and
integrity beyond reproach. And
this reputation of yours is going
to be your best weapon to
convince the cowards on the
council to put a stop to this
madman.
(MORE)

ZALTAR (CONT'D)
You cannot compromise your
reputation by aiding a known
fugitive. You have to turn me in.
Besides, if you don't, Brakko
will know you have the Omegahedron.
ZOR-EL
But the charges against you are
lies. Everybody knows that.
ZALTAR
Yes, they're lies, but they're
excellent lies. Or at least good
enough to get me convicted
without much trouble. I must
admit Brakko did an excellent job
in that regard.
ALURA
But if they convict you they'll
send you to the Phantom Zone.
ZALTAR
I'm certain they will. I figure
it's a small price to pay if it
serves to save the city and put a
stop to Brakko.
ZOR-EL
This is not the time to be a hero,
Zaltar.
ZALTAR
Zor-El, we're dealing with a
madman who is about to obtain
enough power to conquer half the
galaxy. This is exactly the right
time to be a hero, and since I
see no one else volunteering I'd
like to propose myself for the
job.
(beat)
Believe me, my friend, I've
thought about it at length and
this seems the best possible
solution.
Everyone is speechless for a moment.
KARA
I'll save you. I don't know how
but I'll get you out of the
Phantom Zone. I promise.

ZALTAR
(smiles)
My sweet dear young Kara.
(puts his hands on her shoulders)
Here I was, complaining that no
one around here wanted to be a
hero, and there you go and prove
me wrong. I'm so proud of you.
But sorry, my dear, the job of
hero is already taken. I'm sure
you'll grow up to be a fine hero
some day, but for now let your
father and I do the job.
Zaltar hugs Kara.
KARA
I'll save you. I promise.
ALURA
We'll never forget what you're
doing, Zaltar.
Zor-El gives the Omegahedron to Kara.
ZOR-EL
(to Kara)
Hide it where no one will find it.
And don't tell your mother or me
where you put it. Understand?
INT. GRANDPA'S ROOM - MORNING - RESUMING
Supergirl wakes up with a jolt. She sits up on the bed,
looking worried. Then she notices the blanket. She looks
outside the room, smiles: what a nice guy.
She gets out of the bed walks into the living room.
INT. LIVING ROOM - GRANDPA'S CABIN
Ethan sits at the table, having breakfast (toasts and
coffee). Supergirl walks in.
ETHAN
Good morning.
Supergirl regards Ethan like an ambassador talking to a
president. She does this every time she "thanks" him (which
she will do several times in the script). When she speaks,
she does so ceremoniously, like someone who has been taught
since childhood the proper way to say thanks.

SUPERGIRL
(ceremoniously)
Good morning, Ethan. And thank
you for all you did for me last
night. I was hurt and confused,
and you helped me. You tended to
my wounds, gave me a ride and
lent me a bed to sleep. I truly
appreciate it. You are a kind and
generous man and I will not
forget it. If you are ever in
need of my help, I will be more
than willing to oblige and...
(normal)
Er... do you mind if I eat? I'm
starving.
ETHAN
No, go ahead. I made enough for
both of us.
SUPERGIRL
(ceremoniously)
Thank you. Once again you
demonstrate your generosity.
(normal)
It smells really good. What is it?
ETHAN
Er... toast --?
She sits down, picks up a toast, butters it and takes a
small bite. She likes it so she eats the rest of the toast
in one bite.
ETHAN
Look, I was thinking that as soon
as you're done, I should take you
to the hospital. I mean, you look
fine but you might have internal
injuries or something.
She butters another toast and swallows it in one bite.
SUPERGIRL
I'm perfectly okay now. But
thanks for worrying.
ETHAN
If you say so. But I still think
you should see a doctor as soon
as possible. Anyway, we should go
to Midvale and get a tow truck
for your car.
13.
SUPERGIRL
Car? What car?
ETHAN
Your car. The one you crashed on
last night. You do remember what
happened last night, don't you?
SUPERGIRL
I do remember. I crash-landed on
my spacecraft.
ETHAN
(beat)
What do you mean you crash-landed
on you spacecraft?
SUPERGIRL
I mean this: this is my spacecraft.
She mimics a spacecraft with her hand.
SUPERGIRL (CONT'D)
And it went like this.
She mimics the crash, including sound effects.
ETHAN
You kidding? Are you telling me
you're an alien?
SUPERGIRL
Uh-huh.
ETHAN
Wearing Superman's clothes?
SUPERGIRL
He's my cousin.
ETHAN
For real?
SUPERGIRL
Yes.
ETHAN
Are you telling me you can do the
whole number? Leap tall buildings
in a single bounce? See right
through things?
SUPERGIRL
I suppose.

ETHAN
Bend steel bars?
SUPERGIRL
(smiling)
I hope. Actually, I haven't had
the chance to test my powers yet.
What's the heaviest thing around
here?
EXT. GRANDPA'S CABIN - MOMENTS LATER
Ethan stands next to his pickup truck. Supergirl stands
behind it.
ETHAN
(jokingly)
Try not to sprain a muscle, okay?
She shoots him a look: I'll show you. She reaches down and
easily lifts the back of the truck with one hand.
ETHAN (CONT'D)
Holy cow! I thought you were kidding.
SUPERGIRL
Are you sure this thing is heavy?
She lifts the truck as if doing barbells with it.
ETHAN
Yeah. Wow. You really are Supergirl.
SUPERGIRL
Supergirl? Yes. I am Supergirl.
She smiles at the thought. Then looks at the truck. She's
only lifting the back.
SUPERGIRL (CONT'D)
But I'm only lifting half of it,
right?
She lifts the whole truck over her head with one arm. She
looks disappointed.
SUPERGIRL (CONT'D)
Still not very heavy, though.
(puts truck down)
What else is there?
ETHAN
Rocks. Lots of them.
15.
SUPERGIRL
(looks around, points)
Is that one heavy?
ETHAN
Why don't you tell me?
They walk to a large rock, weighing fifteen tons. She grabs
the rock by one side and pulls, but the rock breaks, leaving
her with a small boulder the size of a hubcap. She looks at
the boulder.
SUPERGIRL
That was disappointing.
She walks to the center of the rock and lifts it whole. It
takes her some effort. She lifts the rock over her head and
starts doing one-arm push-ups with it.
SUPERGIRL (CONT'D)
(smiling)
Much heavier than the truck. But
I can handle it because I'm
Supergirl.
(giggles)
ETHAN
That is so cool.
SUPERGIRL
Cool? Is that good?
ETHAN
Yeah. Very good.
SUPERGIRL
Then this is going to be really cool.
She throws the rock up in the air and punches it as it comes
down, smashing it into a dozen pieces. She's literally
jumping with joy.
SUPERGIRL (CONT'D)
I'm pretty strong, aren't I?
ETHAN
You think?
SUPERGIRL
I'm loving this. Okay, what else
can I do? Oh yes, heat vision.
She writes "Kara" on a rock with her heat vision.
16.
SUPERGIRL (CONT'D)
Well, that works.
She stares at Ethan's chest for a moment
SUPERGIRL (CONT'D)
X-ray vision works too.
ETHAN
Wait a minute -- did you just X-
ray me?
SUPERGIRL
Yes.
ETHAN
What did you see?
SUPERGIRL
Your heart.
(beat)
You have a big heart, Ethan.
(smiles)
But I already knew that.
(beat, frowns)
Though it beats really fast. Is
that normal for a Terran?
ETHAN
(embarrassed)
Sure. You know -- the heat and
everything.
SUPERGIRL
Oh well. What else?
(beat, remembering)
Flight! How could I forget flight!
(to Ethan)
How do I fly?
ETHAN
I don't know. Superman just sort
of jumps.
SUPERGIRL
Let's see.
She takes a couple of steps back and then jumps about 50
feet up in the air and lands 100 yards away with a large
cloud of dust.
CUT TO Supergirl siting on the ground, thinking about what
went wrong. Ethan comes running.
ETHAN
Are you okay, Supergirl?
17.
SUPERGIRL
Sure. I'm just thinking. I didn't
fly, of course, I merely jumped.
So how can I fly?
(stands up)
Perhaps I should imagine myself
floating.
She extends her arms and closes her eyes. A moment later she
floats a few feet off the ground. She opens her eyes and
notices.
SUPERGIRL
Wow! It feels incredible!
Then she shoots into the air and does a pretty aerial ballet.
EXT. DESERTED ROAD - MORNING
Nigel walks down a dirt road crossing the desert. An 82 Nova
approaches him. He eagerly shows his thumb. The car stops
about twenty yards in front of him. He runs to it.
The DRIVER is a chubby man in his late forties. He rolls
down the passenger's window.
DRIVER
Where're you going, buddy?
Nigel shows him the Omegahedron with a grin on his face.
The Driver shoots out of the car like out of a cannon,
taking the driver's door with him. He lands 200 yards away.
Nigel enters the car. The driver's door returns and
reattaches itself.
NIGEL
(to himself)
None of your bloody business.
INT. LIVING ROOM - GRANDPA'S CABIN - MORNING
Supergirl and Ethan sit at the table. She looks really excited.
SUPERGIRL
(giddy)
It's amazing! Flying is the most
unbelievable sensation in the
universe. I mean -- the air
rushing by, the freedom -- oh, it
feels so great. You sure you
don't want me to give you a ride?
I wouldn't mind. In fact, I'd
love to share it with you.
18.
ETHAN
I'll pass. I rather wait till you
get a bit more practice.
SUPERGIRL
I'm pretty good at it. I may need
some work on my landings but I
didn't crash even once. Sure you
don't want a ride? I assure you
it's the greatest sensation in
the universe.
ETHAN
Better than lifting giant rocks
and smashing them to bits?
SUPERGIRL
(beat, smiles)
Maybe they're a tie.
They chuckle. Then there's a short awkward silence, while
they stare at each other.
SUPERGIRL (CONT'D)
(ceremoniously)
Well, thanks again, Ethan. Thanks
for helping me last night. Thanks
for the bed and the food. And
thanks for being there to share
with me the most exciting morning
of my life.
ETHAN
No problem. Got a kick out of it.
And now I can brag to my friends
that I personally know Supergirl.
SUPERGIRL
(smiling)
Yes, you can.
(beat, stands up)
But now I have to go. Good-bye,
Ethan. I truly hope to see you again.
ETHAN
Bye, Supergirl. It's been a real
pleasure. Where are you going anyway?
SUPERGIRL
I must find my cousin and tell
him about the Omegahedron.
ETHAN
Superman? Superman's not here.
Not on Earth, I mean.
19.
SUPERGIRL
What? Why?
ETHAN
About a week ago, an alien
spacecraft landed near the
Washington monument. The aliens
said they were peaceful and that
they wanted to make some sort of
cultural exchange with Earth. So
the U.N. sent a group of
scientists to their planet and
Superman went with them, you know,
to make sure they were okay.
They're supposed to be back early
next month.
SUPERGIRL
(distraught)
Kal-El's not here? I can't
believe it. What am I going to do?
What if someone finds the
Omegahedron and learns how to use
it? He'll conquer Earth long
before he's back. And what about
Argo City? And Zaltar --
ETHAN
Ehem.
Ethan points at her clothes. She frowns -- doesn't get it.
Then she looks down at herself and gets it.
SUPERGIRL
Oh yes, I forgot.
She folds her arms, looks cocky, grows an inch.
SUPERGIRL (CONT'D)
I'm Supergirl. I can lift giant
rocks and smash them to bits. I
can fly. I can do anything
Superman can do. Sure I can
handle the situation all by
myself. And that's what I'm going
to do. I'll recover the
Omegahedron. I'll save Zaltar
from the Phantom Zone. I'll save
Argo City from that madman Brakko.
All by myself. And everyone is
going to be proud of me. Kal-El
will be proud. Mom and Dad will
be proud. Zaltar will be proud.
And even you will be proud of me.
Then reality sinks in. She deflates, shrinks an inch.
20.
SUPERGIRL (CONT'D)
But how am I going to find the
Omegahedron? It could be anywhere.
Earth's such a big place and I
know so little of it. And what if
someone has already found it and
learned how to use it? It was
designed to take on an army of
Kryptonians on Earth and even if
this one's just a prototype, I'm
sure I'm no match for it even
with all my powers. And my ship
is useless now. How am I going to
return to Argo City and stop
Brakko and save Zaltar?
She looks about to break into a sob. Ethan tries to speak,
but she composes herself and continues talking, mostly to
herself.
SUPERGIRL (CONT'D)
No, I can't do this to myself.
I'm Supergirl. I may not have
Superman's experience but I'm
sure I can handle this. All I
have to do is not to get
overwhelmed by the number of
problems and focus on solving
them one by one. First I'll find
the Omegahedron then I'll worry
about the rest.
(to Ethan)
Sorry, I talk to myself when I
get nervous.
ETHAN
Don't worry, I'll help you. I may
not have superpowers but I can
give you lots of moral support.
And I can help you with anything
you need to know about Earth.
SUPERGIRL
(ceremoniously, smiling)
Thank you, Ethan. Once again you
prove to be a kind and generous
man. I feel lucky to have met you.
ETHAN
I feel the same. Anyway, this
Omegahedron, what does it look
like and what can it do?
21.
SUPERGIRL
It's a shiny sphere about this
big. It's supposedly capable of
controlling the space-time
continuum or something. All I
know for sure is that it can
create some sort of portal from
Argo to Earth.
(realizing)
Oh, a portal! I forgot about it.
That's how I'm going to save
Zaltar and get back to Argo. I'll
just have to find the Omegahedron
and learn how to make portals
with it and all my problems will
be solved.
ETHAN
I see you're getting the hang of
this superhero stuff.
SUPERGIRL
(proudly)
Yes, I am.
(thinking)

EXT. SKY ABOVE DESERT - DAY
We see Ethan in his truck. The passenger's seat is empty.

Ethan looks out the window and down.
ETHAN
Do the loop again. That was so cool.
PAN DOWN to reveal Supergirl flying, carrying the truck.
They are a couple of thousand feet off the ground.
SUPERGIRL
You mean this?
She does a loop in mid air. He hollers with joy.
ETHAN
And to think I wasted all that
money on rollercoasters.
SUPERGIRL
You liked it?
ETHAN
Yeah!
SUPERGIRL
See, I told you. Flying is the
greatest sensation ever.
ETHAN
Sure. And I must admit you've
gotten pretty good at it.
SUPERGIRL
Yes, I have.
(smiles, beat)
Is that Midvale?
ETHAN
Yes.
(beat)
You know what? I don't think we
should fly all the way to my
apartment. I'd call too much
attention.
SUPERGIRL
I was thinking about that too.
She takes the truck down.
EXT. DESERTED ROAD
Supergirl lands with the truck, then circles it. She opens
the passenger's door and when she enters, she's in full
Linda Lee outfit.
Ethan does a double take.

ETHAN
Wow. Is that you? How did you do
that?
LINDA
I came prepared. Kryptonian
clothes can change their shape.
ETHAN
That would save so much money.
LINDA
Now all I need is a name.
ETHAN
A name?
LINDA
Yes. My secret identity. So I can
go around the city and people
won't know I'm Supergirl.
ETHAN
That's a good idea. Did you just
think of that?
LINDA
Er... no. Any ideas for a name? I
don't know much about Terran names.
ETHAN
(thinks)
What about "Linda"? It means
pretty in Spanish.
LINDA
Well, thanks. So Linda it is.
Linda... Lee. Linda Lee. I just
hope I can remember it.
Ethan starts the truck.
ETHAN
Wait a minute. Does Superman have
a secret identity too?
LINDA
Er... I can't tell you about that.
ETHAN
Oh, okay.

INT. SELENA'S TRAILER - DAY
SELENA DAVIES, mid-twenties, slim, short, long brunette hair,
sits on the couch of her trailer, watching a soap on an old
TV set. Her sister BIANCA, seventeen, scrawny, tall, sits
next to her.
The door bursts open and Nigel barges in, smiling ear to ear.
NIGEL
Congratulate me, Selena, I've
achieved ultimate power.
Selena stares blankly at Nigel for a moment.
SELENA
Nigel, get the hell out of my
trailer.
NIGEL
I'm serious. I'm about to become
the ruler of the world.
SELENA
Get out NOW!
Nigel pulls the Omegahedron out of his pocket and shows it
to Selena.
NIGEL
Two days ago I found this magic
shiny ball. Its power is amazing.
It damn near makes me omnipotent.
SELENA
(getting up, angry)
If I have to tell you to get out
one more time --
Nigel points the Omegahedron at the TV and the channel
begins to change. Both women turn to the TV. Neither looks
impressed.
BIANCA
So you've become a human remote
control. I can see how that
relates to becoming the ruler of
the world.
NIGEL
This is nothing. Follow me. Let
me show you something that'll
knock your socks off.
Nigel rushes out of the trailer. Neither woman moves a
muscle. A moment later Nigel comes back in.

NIGEL (CONT'D)
Come on, aren't you even the
least bit curious?
SELENA
Not really.
NIGEL
Just come, okay.
EXT. ABANDONED TRAILER PARK
The Nova that Nigel stole is parked next to Selena's Trailer.
Nigel comes out, followed by Selena and Bianca. Bianca takes
a look at the old Nova and bursts into laughter.
BIANCA
So you stole a really old car. If
I was wearing socks, they'd be
knocking themselves off by now.
SELENA
Impress me, Nigel.
Nigel points the Omegahedron at the Nova, and it hovers a
foot off the ground.
NIGEL
Impressed, my dear?
Selena begins to walk slowly around the car, occasionally
looking under it, trying to find what is keeping it up in
the air. Then she smiles.
SELENA
What do you say, Bianca? Should
we give shelter to this wanted
criminal?
BIANCA
The remote's broken and we could
use someone to rub our feet from
time to time.
NIGEL
So what's it going to be? I just
need a safe place until I learn
how to use its full power, then
I'll become the ruler of the
world, and you two can come live
in my palace. Deal?
SELENA
You can stay.

NIGEL
Thank you my dear.
Nigel goes for the kiss, but Selena's look stops him dead on
his tracks.
SELENA
Not until I live in a palace.
NIGEL
That's all the motivation I need.
INT. CORRIDOR OUTSIDE ETHAN'S APARTMENT - DAY
The fifth floor of an apartment building. Four apartments on
every floor. Noises come from the stairs, like someone
pushing something very heavy.
ETHAN (O.S.)
Damn elevator.
LINDA (O.S.)
Do you want me to help you with
those?
ETHAN (O.S.)
No, they're very heavy.
LINDA (O.S.)
I know, that's why I'm asking you.
Linda and Ethan appear on the stairs. Ethan carries a four-
foot-high stack of newspapers. He looks tired as hell.
ETHAN
I don't think people should see
you carrying this much weight.
LINDA
They don't have to see ME
carrying it.
She puts a hand under the stack and lifts it a little,
taking the weight off Ethan's hands, though it still looks
like he's the one carrying it.
Ethan glares at Linda.
ETHAN
Couldn't you have thought of that
five floors ago?

LINDA
(smiling)
I did. I just thought it was
funny the way you looked. And you
said you could do it yourself...
ETHAN
(chuckles)
So it's my fault for trying to be
a gentleman, right? Well, here we
are.
They walk to the apartment furthest away from the camera.
Ethan opens the door. Linda takes the stack of newspapers
and enters. Ethan follows her.
INT. ETHAN'S APARTMENT
A one-bedroom apartment. Scarcely decorated.
ETHAN
(points)
You can leave them on the table
over there.
Linda sets down the newspapers on the table, picks one up
and opens it.
ETHAN (CONT'D)
You want to start right away?
LINDA
Uh-huh. What am I looking for?
ETHAN
Anything unusual.
She searches half the newspaper at superspeed, then stops.
LINDA
What is unusual for Earth?
ETHAN
Good question.
(beat, thinking)
Look for anything that matches
the description of the Omegahedron
or anything described as mysterious.
She searches all the newspapers at superspeed. It takes her
about 5 seconds.
LINDA
Nothing. What now?

ETHAN
Watch the news on TV, I suppose.
And wait till something happens.
LINDA
I think I'll go out. Fly around
the city. Maybe I can find it.
ETHAN
Okay. You do that. But try not to
draw too much attention to
yourself. I'll check the
newspapers again. Maybe you
missed something.
EXT. SKY ABOVE MIDVALE - DAY
Supergirl flies around the city, looking down, searching for
the Omegahedron.
We follow her for a moment, then focus on a car driving
around. A 92 Mustang belonging to Jimmy Olsen.
EXT. JIMMY'S CAR
LUCY LANE, early twenties, drives the car, while JIMMY OLSEN,
mid-twenties, looks out the window. He carries a state-of-
the-art digital camera.
JIMMY
Nothing ever happens in this
stinking little town.
LUCY
If you don't like my stinking
little town, why don't you just
go back to Metropolis?
JIMMY
Sorry, I didn't mean that. It's
just that my rent's due next week
and I'm 100 dollars short.
LUCY
I can lend you the hundred.
JIMMY
No.
LUCY
What? Too macho to borrow from
your girlfriend?

JIMMY
It's not that. You know I'm not a
neanderthal or anything. It's
just that, well, you don't have a
job. So I wouldn't be borrowing
from my girlfriend as much as
from my girlfriend's allowance,
and that's a bit too much for my
ego. But forget about it. I just
need a couple of good pictures I
can sell and I'll be out of the red.
LUCY
What about a human-interest story?
JIMMY
No. I need something big.
Lucy looks out the window as sees Supergirl.
LUCY
What about something blue and red?
JIMMY
What do you mean?
LUCY
(points out the window)
I mean that. I think Superman's back.
Jimmy looks at the small blue/red dot. He puts the long
distance lens on the camera. He hoists himself out the
window and sits on the door, aiming the camera at the dot.
We see Supergirl on the camera's screen. Jimmy puzzles over
the image and then snaps a picture, and comes back inside
the car.
JIMMY
That's not Superman.
He shows the camera's screen to Lucy.
LUCY
Who is she?
JIMMY
Let's find out. Go to the back of
the park. We're going to need
some privacy.
Jimmy presses a button on his watch and we hear a high-
pitched chirping sound.

EXT. SKY ABOVE MIDVALE
Supergirl hears the high-pitched chirping sound. She looks
around, trying to locate the source of the sound. She finds
it and flies there.
EXT. MIDVALE CENTRAL PARK
Jimmy and Lucy stand next to the parked Mustang, looking up.
Jimmy snaps a couple of pictures.
A moment later, Supergirl lands near them. Jimmy presses the
button on the watch again, and the chirping sound stops.
SUPERGIRL
Were you making that sound?
JIMMY
Yes.
(snaps picture)
I'm Jimmy Olsen.
(shows his watch)
This produces an ultrasonic
signal. Superman gave it to me so
I could contact him.
SUPERGIRL
You know my cousin?
LUCY
You're Superman's cousin?
SUPERGIRL
Yes.
(proudly)
I'm Supergirl.
LUCY
Really? Can you do all Superman
can do? Leap tall buildings in a
single bounce, see right through
things, bend steel bars?
SUPERGIRL
(proudly)
Yes, I can.
(chuckles)
It's so cool.
LUCY
I'd love to see that some day.
SUPERGIRL
Do you want me to lift your car?
It's very easy.

Jimmy and Lucy exchange glances. Jimmy readies the camera.
JIMMY
Sure. Go ahead.
Supergirl lifts the car with one hand. Jimmy snaps several
pictures.
LUCY
Wow! You're amazing.
SUPERGIRL
This is nothing. This morning I
lifted this really big rock and
smashed it to pieces with a
single punch. I'm very proud of that.
LUCY
It's so cool to finally meet a
woman who can do that. By the way,
I'm Lucy Lane.
SUPERGIRL
Lucy LANE?
Supergirl puts down the car.
LUCY
Yes, Lucy Lane. As in Lois Lane's
little sister. Don't you hate it
when you're defined as someone
else's relative? Like you don't
have a life of your own. Like you
only exist in relation to that
person. Don't you hate it?
SUPERGIRL
I don't think I've been on Earth
long enough to be defined as
anyone's anything, and where I
come from everyone refers to
Superman as my cousin.
LUCY
That would be heaven.
(mock male voice)

Yes, I'm Lois Lane.

Yeah, that'll happen.
Jimmy snaps a couple more pictures. Supergirl stares
curiously at the camera.
SUPERGIRL
What are you doing with that device?
JIMMY
I'm... I'm taking pictures of you.
See.
Jimmy shows her the screen on the camera, with a picture of
her in it.
JIMMY (CONT'D)
I'm a reporter. Actually, I'm a
photographer, but with this story
Perry'll make me a reporter in no
time.
SUPERGIRL
A reporter? Do you know everything
that happens on Earth?
JIMMY
Not everything. But I'm connected,
so to speak.
SUPERGIRL
I need your help. I'm looking for
a very powerful weapon called the
Omegahedron. It's a shiny sphere
about this big. I need to find it
as soon as possible.
LUCY
Any idea where it might be?
SUPERGIRL
No. But I think someone might
have found it by now. Maybe even
learned how to use it.

JIMMY
What can it do?
SUPERGIRL
I'm not sure. But it's very
powerful. You'll notice if
someone uses it.
JIMMY
Okay. I'll keep my eyes open.
I'll call you if I know anything.
SUPERGIRL
Thanks.
JIMMY
No problem.
Jimmy gets a recorder out of his pocket and aims it at
Supergirl.
JIMMY (CONT'D)
So, you're Superman's cousin, right?
SUPERGIRL
Yes.
Supergirl looks at the recorder, frowns.
JIMMY
That means you're Kryptonian too,
right?
SUPERGIRL
I came from Argo City. It's a...
what is that device doing?
JIMMY
It's a recorder. You know, to
record the interview.
SUPERGIRL
Interview?
JIMMY
Yes. I'm sure the readers would
like to know a bit about you.
SUPERGIRL
Readers? You're going to talk
about me in the newspapers?
JIMMY
That's the general idea. I'm sure
it'll make the front page.

Please, don't do that. I don't
want the person who has the
Omegahedron to know I'm here.
JIMMY
Oh, don't ask me that. I'm
helping you find the omega-
whatever and everything.
LUCY
Jimmy!
SUPERGIRL
Well, if you need the interview

LUCY
No, he doesn't. Don't worry,
Supergirl, I'll make sure he
doesn't print anything if I have
to hit him with a lead pipe.
SUPERGIRL

JIMMY
(to Lucy)
Come on, Lucy. She was flying
around in broad daylight. I'm
sure CNN already has a dozen
videos of her.
LUCY
Jimmy! I swear I'll never speak

JIMMY
Oh, okay.
(to Supergirl)

SUPERGIRL

I presumed that was what

JIMMY

(to Lucy)
So are you speaking to me or not?
LUCY
Not for the next hour.
JIMMY
(to Supergirl)
She'll get over it.
EXT. ABANDONED TRAILER PARK - LATE AFTERNOON
Nigel sits on the ground next to the trailer and the Nova.
There's a three-foot-high stack of tiny pebbles in front of
him. Selena and Bianca stand behind him, eyeing the pebbles.
A small pebble slowly rises from the ground and places
itself at the top of the stack. Nigel stares at the pebble
all the way.
NIGEL
I'm not touching the stack. I'm
merely placing the pebble on top
of it.
Another pebble rises from the ground and heads for the top
of the stack.
NIGEL (CONT'D)
But I have enough control over
the pebble that the stack remains
perfectly balanced.
The pebble places itself atop the stack, and the stack
collapses. Nigel looks at all the pebbles scattered around him.

NIGEL (CONT'D)
84 pebbles. My new record.
Nigel turns to the women, who don't look impressed at all.
BIANCA
Was I supposed to be impressed by
that?
NIGEL
The key to power isn't so much
having it as controlling it.
Using the magic shiny ball is
relatively simple. But controlling
its power takes practice.
Nigel stands up.
BIANCA
Still not impressed.
NIGEL
Look behind you.
Both women turn around. There's a WEREWOLF made entirely of
small pebbles standing next to them. The werewolf growls.
Bianca screams like a cartoon and runs inside the trailer.
Selena still doesn't look impressed. The werewolf drops to
four legs, laughs like a cartoon dog and walks to Nigel,
wagging its tail. Nigel pats its head and the werewolf licks
his hand.
SELENA
You're wrong, Nigel. The key to
power isn't having it or
controlling it, but knowing what
to do with it. That's where
you'll always fail.
(beat)
You're a buffoon, Nigel. You've
always been a buffoon and no
matter how much power you have or
how well you can control it,
you'll always be a buffoon.
NIGEL
Yes, Selena, I love you too. And
Fido loves you as well.
The werewolf approaches Selena, wagging its tail. Selena
glares at it. The werewolf runs behind Nigel, whimpering
like a scared dog, tail between its legs. Selena glares at
Nigel, lets out a growl of her own and walks into her trailer.

Nigel watches her disappear inside the trailer, then bursts
into laughter.
INT. ETHAN'S APARTMENT - NIGHT
Ethan sleeps on the couch, which is a foot too small for him.
The blanket is halfway on the floor. The light is on, so
Supergirl can find the apartment more easily.
Supergirl flies in through the balcony. She sees Ethan on
the couch, sees the blanket. She picks it up and covers him
with it, waking him up.
SUPERGIRL
I didn't mean to wake you up.
ETHAN
It's okay.
(sits up)
How did the search go?
He checks his watch. It's 3:22 AM. She sits next to him on
the couch.
SUPERGIRL
No luck. But I did meet a
reporter named Jimmy Olsen. He
promised to call me if he found
out anything.
ETHAN
(beat)
Call you? You didn't give him
this phone number, did you?
SUPERGIRL
No. He has a device that produces
an ultrasonic signal that I can
hear miles away. I hope he calls
soon.
ETHAN
I'm sure he'll call soon enough
and in no time you'll have the
Omegahedron in your hands and
you'll save the day and everything.
SUPERGIRL
I know I shouldn't worry so much
but I feel that if I take too
long to find it, it'll be too
late. I know I should trust them,
I know my father is a very
intelligent and resourceful man
and he'll know how to deal with
Brakko until I return. But still...

ETHAN
Don't do this to yourself. Things
will happen when they happen. You
can't just go crazy trying to
force things to happen. You need
to relax a bit. Tell you what. Go
to sleep now. Have a nice dream.
And in the morning, you'll put on
your wig, change your clothes and
I'll give you a nice tour of the
town. You'll see new places. Meet
new people. See what the town
looks like from the ground level.
And you'll have fun. Sounds like
a plan?
SUPERGIRL
(smiling)
Yes.
(beat)
You know, we're very supportive
of each other in my society.
Whenever one of us faces a
problem, we all stand behind him
and help him.
(beat)
This is the first time I've ever
had to face a problem by myself,
and it's the greatest problem
I've ever faced. It scares me. I
know I can deal with it. I know I
have what it takes. But I also
know that when the time comes
I'll have to deal with it all by
myself.
ETHAN
You know I'll help you any way I can.
SUPERGIRL
That's what I mean. I'll have to
deal with it by myself, but I
know I won't be alone.
(beat)
Thanks.
He stares at her blankly for a moment, then bursts into
laughter. That's just too much to hear at 3:22 AM.
ETHAN
You're welcome. Now go to sleep,
kiddo. We have a full day
tomorrow and I'm dead tired.

INT. ETHAN'S TRUCK - DAY
Linda and Ethan in his pickup truck. They're driving around
the city. Linda eats from a large can of chocolate ice-cream.
LINDA
I love this thing. Chocolate ice-
cream, right?
ETHAN
Yes.
LINDA
The other one was called vanilla,
right? I loved that one too.
ETHAN
And the first one was strawberry.
LINDA
The pink one?
ETHAN
Yes.
LINDA
That one was pretty good too.
ETHAN
(beat)
I don't think you should eat that
much ice-cream, you know.
LINDA
Why?
ETHAN
To begin with, I'm going to go
broke if you keep eating this much.
LINDA
I forgot food isn't free on Earth.
I promise not to eat so much.
ETHAN
Don't say that. I was just
kidding. You eat what you need to
eat. You need to keep up your
strength.
Linda closes the can of ice cream and puts it aside.
LINDA
I'll just save this for later.
I'm not really hungry, I just
like how it tastes.

ETHAN
Well, I'm hungry. How about we go
to the mall? We can eat some real
food there. Or at least semi-real
food.
LINDA
Okay. I like malls.
Linda looks out the window. Her expression changes to
puzzlement.
LINDA'S POV. We see a robbery in the back of an alley. Three
goons rob an old man and his 13-year-old granddaughter. One
goon is pressing a crowbar against the old man's neck. A
huge goon has the girl by the neck, choking her, and has a
gun pressed to her cheek.
BACK TO SCENE
Linda has the expression of someone about to blow off her
top, but trying not to do so.
LINDA
Stop the car.
ETHAN
Why?
LINDA
I need to do something.
ETHAN
All right.
Ethan pulls over.
LINDA
Hold this.
She gives him the can of ice-cream and gets out of the car.
INT. ZOR-EL'S HOUSE - ARGO CITY - DAY - FLASHBACK
Brakko, a thick, tall, monster of a man stands in the living
room. Three of his men, dressed in Kryptonian military
clothes, hold Zor-El. Alura and Kara stand helplessly aside.
Brakko's voice is both measured and booming.
BRAKKO
Where is my prototype?

ZOR-EL
What prototype are you referring
to? The prototype of a weapon
whose development would certainly
earn you a stay in the Phantom Zone?
BRAKKO
(smiling)
Yes, Zor-El. Exactly that
prototype. I knew you'd understand
me. So where is my Omegahedron?
ZOR-EL
I don't know.
BRAKKO
Do I need to refresh your memory?
ZOR-EL
There's no memory to be refreshed.
I don't know where it is.
BRAKKO
Really?
Brakko grabs Kara by the neck, raises her a foot off the
ground and slams her against the wall. He's choking her. She
tries to pull his arm away but he's too strong.
BRAKKO (CONT'D)
(to Zor-El)
Where is my prototype?
ZOR-EL
Leave her alone! I don't know. I
swear by my honor I don't know
where it is.
BRAKKO
(beat)
You swear by your honor? You
pathetic nobleman. That line
actually means something to you,
doesn't it?
Brakko releases Kara, who slumps into the ground. He slowly
walks to face Zor-El.
BRAKKO (CONT'D)
You're the kind of stupid,
archaic nobleman that would
rather die that betray his honor.
(chuckles)
I believe you. You don't know
where it is. But you're not
stupid and neither am I.

Brakko grabs Alura by the neck and slams her against the wall.
BRAKKO (CONT'D)
(to Alura)
Where is it?
(to Kara)
One of you two knows.
KARA
No! Don't hurt her!
ZOR-EL
Kara!
BRAKKO
(to Kara)
So it's you. Tell me where it is
or I'll hurt your mother.
Brakko squeezes Alura's neck a bit, choking her.
ZOR-EL
Don't tell him, Kara, he'll kill
her anyway.
BRAKKO
I'm a General, not a murderer. I
only kill soldiers in combat.
Torture, however, seems
appropriate for the time being.
KARA
Don't hurt her. I'll lead you to it.
ZOR-EL
Kara no!
Kara stands up and walks down the hallway toward her room.
Brakko releases Alura and follows Kara.
Suddenly, Kara sprints and enters her room, closing and
locking the door behind her. Brakko slams at the door,
trying to break it open.
Kara pushes her bed aside, lifts a couple of boards off the
floor and pulls the Omegahedron from the hole. (The
Omegahedron isn't shining.) Then she moves to the door,
unlocks it.
Brakko hits the door and it bursts open. The force of the
blow has Brakko rushing into the room, past Kara, who
sprints out of the room. She holds the Omegahedron like it
was a gun.
Kara returns to the living room and points the Omegahedron
at Brakko's men.

KARA
Release my parents or I'll use it!
Brakko walks back, smiling. Kara points the Omegahedron at him.
BRAKKO
(chuckles)
You wouldn't know how to use it.
Kara tries to trigger the Omegahedron, but nothing happens.
Brakko grabs her arm and snatches the Omegahedron from her
grip. Kara takes a step back toward her parents.
KARA
I'm sorry. I thought I could use it.
ALURA
It's okay.
BRAKKO
Thanks for keeping my baby safe.
Brakko turns the Omegahedron around like a Rubix cube, and
it starts shining. He focuses and a portal appears. We can
see a desert on the other side of the portal. Then Brakko
throws the Omegahedron into the portal, which closes a
second later.
ZOR-EL
What did you just do?
ALURA
Was that Earth?
BRAKKO
It's a prototype. It has to be
tested at some point, don't you
think? Who knows, the thing might
blow up when overused or have
some side effects. I just hope
whoever finds it doesn't destroy
Earth before I have the chance to
conquer it.
ALURA
You're insane!
BRAKKO

KARA
No, father. It was my fault. Let

If you go, Brakko will know
you're up to something and he'll

EXT. BACK ALLEY - DAY - RESUMING
Three men rob an OLD MAN and a young GIRL in the back of the
alley. The robbers are: BOSCO, the leader, tall and slender,
holding a crowbar to the old man's neck. FRIDGE, a massive
monster, holding the girl by her neck and pointing a gun to
her cheek. And BIPS, short, psychotic-looking, perennial
smile on his face, with two guns on his belt.
BOSCO
Give me the money, pops. All of
it. I know you have at least
fifty thousand.
OLD MAN
I swear I've given you all my
money. Please, let her go.
BOSCO
Don't lie to me, pops. I hate it
when people lie to me. It makes
me angry. And when I get angry, I
get violent. Know where I'm going
with this?
SUPERGIRL (O.S.)
Let them go.
REVERSE ANGLE. Supergirl stands in the front of the alley,
showing them her power stance.
Bips chuckles.
FRIDGE
And who the hell are you supposed
to be?
SUPERGIRL
I'm Supergirl. And you better let
them go now.
BIPS
You look pretty hot in that. I
gotta remember to get one of
those for Monique.
(to Bosco)
Mind if I have a little fun while
you deal with pops?
BOSCO
Mind if we watch?
BIPS
You know I never do.

Bips slowly walks to Supergirl, eyeing her curiously. When
he's close enough he tries to cup a feel. Supergirl swats
his hand, grabs him by the neck, and raises him two feet off
the ground.
Bips struggles for a moment, then draws his two guns and
shoots at Supergirl. She grabs both bullets and tosses Bips
into the wall like a rag doll, knocking him out.
Supergirl turns to the other two goons. She shows them her
fist, opens it and the bullets fall to the ground.
FRIDGE
Don't move a muscle or the little
girl --
In the blink of an eye, Supergirl rushes to Fridge, grabs
the hand with the gun by the wrist and crushes it. Fridge is
in incredible pain. He drops the gun, releases the girl and
tries to break Supergirl's grip to no avail.
Bosco hits Supergirl in the back of the head with the
crowbar. She doesn't even feel it. He tries again and
Supergirl grabs the crowbar. Bosco tries to pry the crowbar
away from Supergirl, while Fridge tries to pry his hand away,
neither of them is moving Supergirl's arms a millimeter.
Then Supergirl pulls both of them to her, grabs them by the
neck and slams them against the wall. She chokes them. They
try to break free, but can't.
SUPERGIRL
Do you enjoy it when someone
stronger than you makes you feel
weak and helpless? Do you enjoy
it when someone chokes you to
death? No? Then stop doing it to
others.
Supergirl smashes their heads together, knocking them out.
She releases them and they slump to the floor.
The Girl runs to Supergirl and hugs her, sobbing.
GIRL
Thank you thank you thank you. I
was so scared. Thank you.
SUPERGIRL
(hugs her back)
You're okay now. I'm here.
GIRL
Thank you thank you...

OLD MAN
Thank you, Supergirl. I'll go
call the police.
INT. FOOD COURT - MALL - DAY
Linda and Ethan stand in front of one of the stands in the
food court.
ETHAN
So you want pepperoni, mushrooms...?
LINDA
Can I have one of each?
ETHAN
Er... sure, why not.
Ethan asks for three pizza slices and two drinks. Linda sees
Jimmy and Lucy eating at a table on the far side of the food
court.
LINDA
There's Jimmy and Lucy. I'll go
say hi.
Linda scurries off.
ETHAN
Okay, I'll catch up.
Ethan pays for the food, grabs the tray and follows Linda.
ETHAN (CONT'D)
(to himself)
Do they know Linda?
Ethan hurries his step.
CUT TO Lucy and Jimmy's table. Linda walks to them, smiling.
LINDA
Hi, how are you?
Lucy frowns, exchanges glances with Jimmy.
LUCY
Do we know you?
LINDA
(frowns)
Sure, don't you...

Oh no, we haven't actually met.
But I've heard so much about you

We can see the wheels turning inside Lucy's head. Too many
cousins.
ETHAN
Well, sort of. It kinda reminds
me of a story my aunt Ellen once
told me about this woman. She had
a child when she was like 20, and

died in a car accident. She was
very poor, had no formal
education, and no one to help her
with the son. So she decides to
give up the child for adoption
because she thinks that's the
only way her son can have a good
life. It hurt her like hell. She

there's a chance she's his mother.

walk away. They glance at each other, then turn back to the
women. Then Ethan begins to eat the pizza.

JIMMY

INT. SELENA'S TRAILER - DAY
Selena and Bianca sit on the couch, watching TV. Nigel
bursts in through the door.
NIGEL
You know what? I'm tired of
eating crummy food and sleeping
on a couch.

NIGEL
That's not what I meant. What I'm
saying is that I'm going to
Midvale to rob myself a bank, and
spend the night in a suite on a
five-start hotel, ordering
everything on the bloody menu,

(excited)

NIGEL
Most certainly. I'm sure you'll

Lucy and Linda walk around the mall, talking like old friends.
LUCY
So, is Ethan your boyfriend?

He even lets me sleep on his bed.
LUCY
You're sleeping with him?
LINDA
Oh, no. He sleeps on the couch.

ETHAN

JIMMY
Let me guess -- you're afraid
Kent'll beat you up if he catches

Now that you mention it... I mean,
she's a helluva woman. If I

Nigel, Selena and Bianca sit inside the Nova, parked in
front of the bank. Bianca is giddy as a schoolgirl. Selena
notices Bianca and shoots her a nasty look.
BIANCA
I'm excited. My first bank robbery.
SELENA
You're such a... ugh.
NIGEL
Don't knock her. It's a very
momentous occasion in every young
woman's life when her sister's
boyfriend invites her to her
first bank robbery.
SELENA
Don't be such an idiot Nigel.
NIGEL
Relax, Selena. It's a bank
robbery, not a bloody funeral.
SELENA
It will be a funeral if that
thing doesn't work.
NIGEL
It'll work and you're going to
love it.
The three get out of the car and enter the bank.
INT. BANK
Standard small-town bank. A large counter in front. About a
dozen customers stand in line, waiting for the tellers. A
security GUARD stands in the far end.
Nigel enters like the place belongs to him. Bianca looks
like a tourist; if she had a camera, she'd be taking
pictures right now. Selena is her usual scowling self.
NIGEL
(to Selena)
Wait over there.
(points to corner)
Nigel walks to the middle of the lobby, smiling like a loon.

NIGEL (CONT'D)
(loudly)
Good evening, ladies and
gentlemen, my name is Nigel Banks
and I'll be your bank robber for
the evening. If you're so kind as
to behave nicely and quietly,
I'll do my best to minimize the
number of fatalities amongst you.
Everyone just stares at Nigel for a moment.
YOUNG MAN
Dude, you don't even have a gun.
NIGEL
A truly keen observation. I do
not, as you point out, possess a
gun. I do, however, possess this.
Nigel shows the Omegahedron.
COSTUMER
A bomb! He's got a bomb!
Everyone drops to the floor, scared, except the Guard, who
remains calm.
NIGEL
It's not a bomb, you load of
imbeciles. It's a... well, I'm
not sure what it is, but I assure
you it's really powerful.
(to Guard)
Isn't this about the time you
remember you have cojones and
decide to stop me, thus allowing
me to demonstrate how powerful I am?
GUARD
Can't do. Bank policy. Can't
interfere with a robbery.
NIGEL
Not getting paid enough, I see.
Very well, I'll just do it myself.
Nigel focuses and the Guard's shotgun comes to life. It
flies to the air and shoots twice at Nigel. The pellets
freeze in mid-air, then drop to the ground. Then the shotgun
twists itself into a knot.
The Guard's face is completely expressionless.

GUARD
(deadpan)
I'm impressed.
Nigel scowls. Then the Guard's pants fall to his ankles.
Nigel smiles. The Guard looks down to his pants, then back
at Nigel, his face still expressionless. Nigel thinks better
of it and the Guard's pants go up again.
NIGEL
Sorry my good man, that was
uncalled-for. I just got carried
away there for a moment.
GUARD
No problem. Now, are you going to
rob the bank or just keep acting
like a jackass till the police
gets here?
NIGEL
Very good point. Would you be so
kind as to lead me to the vault?
There might be a tip in it for you.
The Guard heads for the counter.
GUARD
I'll take you to the vault if you
want to, but it is time-locked.
You won't be able to open it.
NIGEL
Care to wager on that?
Nigel points a hand at the counter and it parts like the Red
Sea.
INT. MALL - DAY
Lucy and Linda chitchat as they walk through the mall. Ethan
and Jimmy walk behind them, not saying a word to each other.
A good-looking woman wearing a small, tight dress walks by
in the opposite direction. Jimmy checks her out big time.
Ethan slaps Jimmy on the back and points at Lucy. Jimmy's
expression says "what?"
A moment later, Jimmy's cell phone rings. He has a message.
He checks it out. It reads "weird bank robbery" and the
bank's address. Jimmy takes a couple of quick steps to catch
up to Lucy and Linda.

JIMMY
Sorry to cut the girl-talk short,
but we got to go, Lucy. I got a
message.
LINDA
What happened?
JIMMY
Just a bank robbery. Standard,
boring stuff. But I got to cover
it anyway.
Everyone says good-bye to each other then Lucy and Jimmy
walk away, leaving Linda and Ethan standing alone. Linda
stares at Lucy for a moment, then turns to Ethan.
LINDA
By the way, was that story true?
ETHAN
What story? That you and Clark
Kent might or might not be cousins?
Linda shoots him a look.
LINDA
The other story.
ETHAN
The one about the 15-year old and
the mother? Most of it is true.
Except that it wasn't my aunt
Ellen who told me the story.
LINDA
(beat)
Did you ever find out if she was
your real mother?
ETHAN
(beat)
No.
(beat)
And I don't think you should be
going around telling people
you're Clark Kent's cousin ten
seconds after Supergirl told them
she's Superman's cousin. I mean,
it doesn't take a genius to
figure things out.
Linda stares at him with caring eyes. She didn't hear the
last part of what he said.

I'm sure your mother is proud of you.
Ethan walks away without saying a word. Linda follows him.
EXT. BANK - DAY
Lucy and Jimmy arrive at the bank that Nigel robbed before.
Jimmy parks the car. She notices the counter, all bent and
twisted.
LUCY
(pointing)
Look.
JIMMY
Seems like we're in the right place.
They get out of the car. The Guard from the robbery stands
outside the door. Inside, detectives interrogate the
witnesses. They approach the door. The Guard blocks their way.
GUARD
Sorry. Bank's closed.
JIMMY
I'm Jimmy Olsen from the Daily
Planet.
(points at counter)
What happened there?
GUARD
A robbery.
JIMMY
I mean the counter.
GUARD
I'm not at liberty to discuss that.
The BANK MANAGER appears at the door.
BANK MANAGER
I'm deeply sorry, sir, but
there's been an incident and the
bank will be forced to remain
closed for the next few days. If
you care --
JIMMY
Did this incident involved a
shiny ball about this big?
The Guard and the Bank Manager exchange glances.

Would you mind waiting here for a

The Bank Manager disappears inside the bank.
LUCY
(to Jimmy)
Was that a yes?
The Bank Manager talks to LT. TRAVIS for a moment, then both
walk to the door.
LT. TRAVIS
I'm Lt. Jason Travis. I believe
you might have information
concerning the weapon used in
this robbery. Mind if we talk?
LUCY
(to Jimmy)
That's a yes.
Jimmy presses the button on his watch.
JIMMY
I don't know much about the
weapon but I know someone who does.
LT. TRAVIS
Would you care to give me the
name and phone number of this
person so I can contact him?
LUCY
Her name is Supergirl and she'll
be here in about ten seconds.
LT. TRAVIS
Supergirl? What do you mean
SuperGIRL?
SUPERGIRL (O.S.)
She means me.
Supergirl lands besides Jimmy.
SUPERGIRL (CONT'D)
(to Jimmy)
What happened?
JIMMY
(points at counter)
That was done by someone with a
shiny ball.

LT. TRAVIS
How did you...?
Lt. Travis and the Bank Manager move out of the way, and
stare as Supergirl walks inside the bank.
JIMMY
She's Superman's cousin.
INT. BANK
Supergirl heads for the counter. Lt. Travis, the Guard, the
Bank Manager, Jimmy and Lucy follow her. The people inside
(witnesses and cops) turn and stare at Supergirl.
LT. TRAVIS
What can you tell me about the
weapon?
SUPERGIRL
It's called the Omegahedron. It's
very powerful and it wasn't made
on Earth.
Supergirl examines the counter.
LT. TRAVIS
How powerful?
SUPERGIRL
That's what I'd like to know.
(touches counter)
This isn't metal, is it?
BANK MANAGER
It's wood and formica. Why?
SUPERGIRL
It doesn't require much power to
do this, right?
GUARD
I could do it myself with a
sledgehammer.
SUPERGIRL
Did the Omegahedron do anything else?
BANK MANAGER
Oh yeah. Follow me.

INT. INNER BANK
The small corridor leading to the vault. The vault door is
two feet thick and made of solid metal, with foot-thick rods
holding it to the frame.
At this moment, the vault door is bent outwards at a 45º
angle. The rods are shattered.
Supergirl examines the door while Jimmy takes pictures of it.
SUPERGIRL
This is very hard metal, isn't it?
BANK MANAGER
I used to think so.
SUPERGIRL
May I?
BANK MANAGER
May you what?
SUPERGIRL
Bend it back. I want to know how
strong it is.
BANK MANAGER
Knock yourself out. It's not like
we can use it now.
FOCUS ON Supergirl. She places one hand on the bent, and
other on the side of the door and pushes with all her
strength. The door screeches and whines and unbends in about
2 seconds.
REVERSE ANGLE. Everyone is slack-jawed, except the Guard.
LUCY
Wow! Go Supergirl!
SUPERGIRL
Was it this easy when the
Omegahedron did it?
GUARD
It was like this --
The Guard shows Supergirl his hand and extends his fingers,
then bends the fingers to show how quickly the door was bent
with the Omegahedron. It took about half a second.
GUARD (CONT'D)
And it had to break the rods to
do it.

Supergirl looks at the door, worried.
SUPERGIRL
Not good.
LUCY
How powerful is this thing?
SUPERGIRL
This one's just a prototype. The
real one is designed to take on
an army of Kryptonians on Earth.
LT. TRAVIS
Kryptonians?
JIMMY
Like Superman.
LUCY
Can you handle it?
SUPERGIRL
I can try.
(to Travis)
Can you describe the one who has it?
LT. TRAVIS
I can show you his face.
INT. BANK SECURITY STATION
A dozen monitors show the various parts of the bank. One
monitor shows the tape of the robbery.
LT. TRAVIS
His name is Nigel Banks. Born on
Essex, England, 27 years ago.
He's accused of 15 counts of bank
robbery. He's been caught twice.
Escaped both times. Last one six
days ago. The two ladies waiting
in the corner are Selena and
Bianca Davies. Selena is believed
to be his girlfriend.
JIMMY
Is he dangerous? I mean normally.
LT. TRAVIS
Nigel? No. Never hurt anyone.
Never even fired a gun. But
Selena was the prime suspect in
her mother's murder. Never proved
anything, though.

Nigel drives the Nova. Selena in the passenger's seat.
Bianca in the back seat, next to the money from the robbery.
Nigel looks happy. Selena and Bianca don't. They remain
silent for several seconds.
SELENA
You're such a buffoon, Nigel.
NIGEL
Finally, you're talking to me.
BIANCA
It was so embarrassing.
NIGEL
What's wrong with you two?
(to Bianca)
And shouldn't you be a nice comic
relief and start throwing wads of
money up in the air while going
"yahoo, yahoo!"
BIANCA

NIGEL

the seat. Nigel tries to fight them back, and manages to
keep them away from the Omegahedron.
66.
The struggle causes the car to swerve madly, causing several
accidents.
EXT. SKY ABOVE MIDVALE
Supergirl patrols the city, looking for Nigel. She hears the
crashes and sees a bus about to crash into a car and she
flies to stop it.
INT. NIGEL'S CAR
Nigel manages to grab the Omegahedron from under his seat
and uses it to force Selena and Bianca away from him.
Bianca turns back and sees Supergirl stopping the bus.
NIGEL
Now you two are going to behave
while I take you to the nearest
insane asylum so they can lock
you in a room with cushy walls.
BIANCA
You have bigger problems than us
right now. I think Superman's back.
NIGEL
Superman?
Nigel looks out the window and sees Supergirl.
NIGEL (CONT'D)
That's not Superman.
Supergirl sees Nigel poking his head out the window.
SUPERGIRL
Nigel!
NIGEL
Crap!
(to Selena)
Drive!
Nigel and Selena switch seats THROUGH each other, and the
car shoots into hyperdrive, doing at least 200 MPH, and
swerving madly to avoid the incoming traffic. Supergirl goes
after it.
Nigel uses the Omegahedron and sends a dozen lampposts
toward Supergirl. The first lamppost takes her by surprise,
but she easily smashes the rest of them.
Then Nigel sends an empty car her way. She punches it and
the car crashes into a building, narrowly missing a dozen
people walking by.
67.
She stops for a moment as she realizes that she could have
hurt those people.
Nigel takes advantage of her distraction and sends a loaded
bus her way. She sees it at the last second. She grabs it
and places it on the ground, then rushes after Nigel.
The chase continues for a minute with Nigel throwing all
sort of stuff at Supergirl. Nigel isn't a murderer, he's
just trying to slow her down, but doesn't really want to
hurt anyone. Then Supergirl flies into the sewers thinking
that this way there's less chance of any innocents getting hurt.
She flies through the sewers at full speed. Nigel uses
everything down there (tubes, rocks, pieces of metal) to
attack her, but she swats everything away with relative ease.
Then she pops up from the sewer ahead of the Nova, which is
racing at unbelievable speed toward her. Nigel sees her and
the car makes an instantaneous U-turn and heads the other way.
Supergirl goes after the Nova. She's about to catch it when
the Nova suddenly jumps into the air toward Supergirl, and
spins around hitting her with the force of a roundhouse kick,
sending her crashing into a building and through it.
A moment later, Supergirl flies out of the building, and
looks around, trying to find Nigel, but the Nova is nowhere
in sight.
There's an old Volkswagen Bug parked nearby. An odd-looking
eight-year-old boy sits on the passenger's seat, looking
straight at Supergirl with a look of distress in his eyes.
Supergirl looks at the boy, puzzled by his expression. Then
the boy smiles and waves at her. She gives him a half smile
and a wave and flies away, trying to find the Nova.
SELENA (O.S.)
You had to wave at her, didn't
you? You had to be funny.
Selena and Bianca materialize in their seats (they were
invisible). The boy morphs back into Nigel.
NIGEL
I wasn't trying to be funny. I
was scared to death and she was
looking right at me. It was the
only thing that occurred to me.
And honestly, if I'd seen a hot
blonde flying around with a
miniskirt when I was eight, I
sure as hell would've smiled and
waved at her.

SELENA
You have to kill her, Nigel.
NIGEL
(beat)
I know.
SELENA
You don't have the guts. Give me
the magic shiny ball and I'll do
it for you.
NIGEL
No. I'll do it. If I truly want
to rule the world, I should start
killing those who oppose me.
SELENA
(smiling)
That's the spirit.
BIANCA
Are you still planning to lock us
in an insane asylum?
SELENA
You need us, Nigel. You need me.
You need my company. I can tell
you what to do and how to do it.
NIGEL
You're never going to lay a
finger on the ball.
SELENA
I don't have to. So long as you
have it, I'm happy.
NIGEL
Drive.
BIANCA
Can this thing actually move?
The VW Bug starts moving.
INT. ETHAN'S APARTMENT - DAY
Ethan sits on the couch. Supergirl, very angry, paces around
the room.
SUPERGIRL
AAARRGGHH! I almost had him. I
was this close. But I got cocky
and he surprised me.
(MORE)

SUPERGIRL (CONT'D)
(growls)
What a dumb mistake!
ETHAN
Come on, take it easy.
SUPERGIRL
Take it easy? How can I take it
easy? That was my best chance to
get the Omegahedron back and I
blew it!
ETHAN
You'll get another chance in no
time, I'm sure.
SUPERGIRL
How can you be sure? Nigel has
already learned how to use the
Omegahedron and he knows I'm
after him. He could be anywhere
on Earth by now. Or anywhere in
the universe. How am I going to
find him now?
ETHAN
I don't think that's going to be
a problem.
SUPERGIRL
What do you mean?
ETHAN
He knows you're the only one
standing in his way. That means
he's either going to hide from
you or try to get rid of you. My
money's on the latter.
SUPERGIRL
(beat)
You think he'll try to kill me?
ETHAN
Yes.
(beat)
Are you ready to fight the
Omegahedron?
Supergirl looks doubtful for a moment, then composes herself,
folds her arms defiantly.
SUPERGIRL
The question is: is Nigel ready
to fight Supergirl?

ETHAN
(smiling)
That's my roomie.
INT. NIGEL'S CAR - DUSK
Selena drives the VW Bug through a dirt road a few miles
outside Midvale. Bianca sits on the back seat. Nigel sits on
the passenger's seat, looking pensive.
SELENA
Here?
NIGEL
(beat)
Keep going.
SELENA
Any direction in mind?
NIGEL
Just keep going.
SELENA
You're stalling, Nigel. You have
to kill her.
NIGEL
I know. I'm looking for a place
suitable for the elimination of a
superhero.
SELENA
What does that place look like?
NIGEL
I'll know it when I see it. Keep
going.
BIANCA
You know, I think I liked you
better when --
Nigel shuts Bianca's mouth. She claws at it, trying to open
it, but to no avail.
Twenty seconds go by in silence.
NIGEL
Turn left.
SELENA
Found your place?
NIGEL
A hill. Three miles northeast.

SELENA
Finally.
EXT. HILL - NIGHT
A low hill several miles outside of Midvale. Nothing but
threes and large rocks around. There's a power plant a
couple of hundred yards north but we can't see it yet.
Selena parks VW Bug. Nigel gets out first, looking like a
man visiting his childhood home. Selena and Bianca get out
too. Bianca eyes Nigel like she thinks there's something
really wrong with him.
Nigel walks several steps uphill. Looks around. Smiles.
NIGEL
Yeah. Place feels right, doesn't
it? Here is where superheroes
must die.
BIANCA
(whispering to Selena)
He flipped, didn't he?
SELENA
No. He's just waking up.
NIGEL
Now all we need is the superhero.
(beat)
Easy enough.
Selena and Bianca look up in the air, stunned. We hear
thunder and rushing air but see nothing but the flash of
lightning.
INT. LUCY'S APARTMENT - NIGHT
Lucy and Jimmy sit on the couch, watching TV.
Jimmy's cell phone rings. He answers it.
JIMMY
Olsen here.
LT. TRAVIS (O.S.)
It's Lt. Travis. Press the button
on your watch and look 10 miles
north-northeast.
Jimmy presses the button on his watch and walks toward the
window.
JIMMY
What am I looking for?

LT. TRAVIS
You can't miss it.
Travis hangs up.
Jimmy pulls the curtain away. There's a gigantic "S" symbol
formed by clouds, hovering a mile over the hills. Lightning
highlights the symbol and makes it visible from everywhere
in the city.
JIMMY
Lucy...
EXT. HILL - NIGHT
Supergirl lands ten feet away from Nigel.
SUPERGIRL
Where is the Omegahedron?
Nigel looks as serious as he'd ever looked.
NIGEL
So that's what it's called. Kind
of a dorky name if you ask me.
Then again, it's better than
magic shiny ball, I suppose.
SUPERGIRL
Where is it?
NIGEL
It's in a place right next to my
heart. Literally.
Nigel pats his chest. Supergirl uses her X-ray vision and
sees the Omegahedron lodged inside Nigel's chest, wedged
between his heart and his lungs.
NIGEL (CONT'D)
You'd have to kill me to get it
out. I figure you'd have a
problem with that.
SUPERGIRL
I don't want to kill you, but I
need the Omegahedron.
NIGEL
Well, I don't want to kill you
either, but you see, ever since I
found the little bugger, I've had
my heart set in becoming the
ruler of the world, and you're in
my way. Can't let that happen.
73.
SUPERGIRL
What you have is a prototype
created by a madman named Brakko.
If I don't return to Argo City
with it, Brakko will build the
real one and take over Earth and
half the galaxy. Having the
prototype will do you no good.
NIGEL
(beat, thinks about it)
That's a bit of a bummer, isn't
it? Tell you what. I'll make you
a deal. I'll help you get rid of
this guy. He'll be no match for
the two of us. And you'll let me
keep this one and become the king
of the planet. I'm not a ruthless
man, I'm more of a party animal.
I don't care much for curing
decease or feeding the hungry,
but I'm sure if they promise to
throw a big enough party in my
honor, I'll help them out a bit.
SELENA
Just kill her!
SUPERGIRL
No deal.
NIGEL
Oh, well. I never really thought
you'd go for it anyway.
Three large rocks come to life and turn into ROCK-MEN,
surrounding Supergirl. Nigel absorbs matter from around him
and grows into a ten-foot-tall giant.
A couple of notes regarding this fight.
1) The Omegahedron works by creating a link between its
user's mind and the universe around it. This link goes both
ways, so when Supergirl punches anything controlled by Nigel
(e.g., the Rock-Men), he's going to feel it. How much he'll
feel it is inversely proportional to the distance, so when
Supergirl attacks a Rock-man far away from Nigel, he'll feel
like his head's about to explode. But when she attacks his
body, he feels almost nothing. The only vulnerable spot on
his body is his head.
2) This is the first time Supergirl has ever fought in her
life. She has no combat training and she's out of shape.
74.
However, she's a fast learner and her body recovers quickly,
which means that at the beginning of the fight she's not too
strong and she looks clumsy, but by the end, her strength
will have doubled and she'll be fighting like Bruce Lee.
The three Rock-Men attack at once. She smashes the first one
into bits, but the other two land their punches. She attacks
a Rock-man and but it dodges her attack by splitting its
head in two, and then it punches her. The other Rock-man
kicks her, sending her crashing into a tree. The first Rock-
man (the one she smashed) reassembles itself.
She stands up and looks at the Rock-men. Then turns to Nigel,
who's smiling. She attacks Nigel with lighting speed. She
lands a right jab in Nigel's stomach, but he doesn't even
feel it.
She backs away in horror. She can't believe her punch
couldn't even erase the smile off his face.
Nigel laughs.
NIGEL
Is that all your power, Supergirl?
And to think I was worried.
Nigel lands a massive punch on Supergirl that sends her
flying back. A Rock-man catches her and holds her arms while
the other two Rock-men begin to pummel her.
INT. JIMMY'S CAR
Lucy and Jimmy arrive at the base of the hill in his car.
They're about fifty yards away from the fight.
LUCY
Look at that!
REVERSE ANGLE: Supergirl breaks free from Rock-man holding
her, and kicks the three Rock-men away with a single
sweeping kick.
BACK TO SCENE
JIMMY
Great. A fight!
He grabs his camera and opens the door. Lucy grabs his arms.
LUCY
What do you think you're doing?
JIMMY
My job.

LUCY
Are you kidding me? We came to
help Supergirl not to take
pictures of her.
JIMMY
Lucy, think about it. What
exactly can we do to help her?
Nothing. All we can do is try not
to get in her way. And maybe take
some pictures and make some money
out of --
Lucy slaps Jimmy.
LUCY
(angry)
I can't believe you just said
that. I can't believe you're just
a --
JIMMY
Listen to me, Lucy. I have a bit
more experience on these matters
than you do. There's nothing we
can do to help her. If you rush
in there you'll just become a
hostage and make things more
difficult for her. You need to
trust her. She's gonna have to do
this on her own. All you can do
is watch --
Lucy glares at Jimmy.
LUCY
And take pictures of her pain.
Jimmy tosses the camera to the back seat.
JIMMY
No pictures. Happy now?
Lucy opens the door and leaves the car. Jimmy leaves too.
EXT. HILL
Supergirl punches a Rock-man and dodges the attack from the
other two. Then she grabs a Rock-man and smashes it into the
other Rock-man.
Nigel moves behind her and kicks her in the back, sending
her flying a hundred yards and crashing head-first into a
large rock.

Supergirl slowly pushes herself to her hands and knees.
She's obviously in great pain, and looks as if she's about
to cry. She sees Nigel's wide, mocking smirk, and her
expression turns into anger.
She jumps off the ground. The three Rock-men attack. She
dodges the first attacker, grabs the second and throws it to
Nigel, then she kicks one Rock-man and punches the other.
Nigel puts up his hands, to cover himself from the Rock-man
flying to him. The Rock-man hits his arms and shatters. A
large chunk hits Nigel in the face, hurting him and sending
him staggering back.
Supergirl takes advantage of his distraction and punches
Nigel a couple of times in the face. This time he feels her
punches.
EXT. HILL BASE
Jimmy and Lucy stand next to the car, watching the fight.
About a dozen police cruisers arrive to the scene. Followed
by news crews. Lt. Travis walks out of the first cruiser.
A NEWS CHOPPER flies above them.
INT. NEWS CHOPPER
We see the scene as seen by the TV audience.
BELLA DIAZ stands next to the chopper's open door. We can
see the fight outside.
BELLA
-- see this young woman, dressed
in an outfit much like Superman's,
fighting a giant man and what
appears to be Rock-men controlled
by the giant.
Nigel punches Supergirl and sends her flying back. A Rock-
man tries to catch her in mid-flight, but she turns around
and smashes it. Nigel feels the punch like she had punched him.
Supergirl lands. The Rock-men quickly surround her. She
looks tired and battle-worn. The Rock-men charge, but this
time she evades all the attacks as she smashes the Rock-men
to bits. More rocks turn into Rock-men and attack her.
BELLA (CONT'D)
We don't really know who this
young woman is, but based on what
I've seen so far, I can honestly
say she has earned herself the
right to wear that outfit.
77.
Then the image flickers and fades. Nigel's face appears.
NIGEL
I'm sorry but this is a private
fight. So if you don't mind...
The image turns into static.
EXT. HILL BASE
The news chopper comes crashing down toward the police
cruisers. Supergirl grabs it at the last moment and places
it on the ground.
Bella and the pilot stumble out of the chopper, looking
dizzy. Bella falls to hands and knees, panting and scared.
She looks up and sees Supergirl.
BELLA
Who are you?
Lucy comes running.
LUCY
Supergirl, are you okay?
SUPERGIRL
(to the cops)
I need you all to go away. I
don't want you to get hurt. Let
me handle this.
(to Lucy)
Don't worry about me. Just go away.
Supergirl flies back into the fight with Nigel.
LT. TRAVIS
Okay, people, everybody out of
here now!
BELLA
Are you crazy? Are you going to
leave her alone to fight that
monster?
LT. TRAVIS
Mrs. Diaz, after what I've seen
that young lady do so far, I'm
not going to even dream about
disagreeing with her.
EXT. HILL
There are a dozen Rock-men now standing in front of Nigel,
waiting for Supergirl. She heads for Nigel, but the Rock-men
attack her.
78.
She punches, kicks and head-butts her way through the Rock-men.
She's about ten yards away from Nigel, when his arm
stretches toward her. He grabs her, pinning her arms to her
body (his hand is large enough to warp around her) and pulls
her to him. Then Nigel tries to punch Supergirl with his
free hand.
At the last second, Supergirl raises her legs and stops his
punch. Then she breaks free from his grip and lands a
gargantuan uppercut on Nigel than sends him twenty feet up
in the air. He lands hard on the ground fifty yards away.
Nigel looks dizzy for a couple of seconds, then his body
shifts five yards to his right, just in time to avoid
Supergirl as she crashes down and goes through the ground.
Then Nigel shifts his body again and she comes up from the
ground at the spot where Nigel was. She flies up for a
moment, turns around and charges Nigel again, but a Rock-man
slams against her, sending her flying outside of shot.
Nigel gets up from the ground, looking startled and a bit
scared. He looks around, as if trying to find something.
Then Supergirl flies into shot, flying toward his head. At
the last second, Nigel's head sinks into his torso and she
misses the punch.
He pivots, stretches his arm and grabs her leg. Then he
spins and sends her flying outside of shot.
EXT. POWER PLANT - HILL
Supergirl comes crashing into the power plant. She smashes
into one of the large towers and gets entangled with the
power lines. Lightning bolts shoot from the lines and crash
into her body. She screams in pain. It takes her a moment to
break free from the lines.
Nigel comes rushing, meaning to attack her again while she's
weak. Supergirl is slumped on the ground, still in pain from
the near-electrocution.
He tries a double-fisted punch, but finds nothing but ground
as she rolls away at the last second. She pushes Nigel into
the power lines and holds him in place, making sure that he
doesn't break free.
Lightning bolts pass through Nigel's body and through
Supergirl's. Both are in great pain. He's convulsing a
cartoon being electrocuted, unable to control his body. She
can control hers despite the electricity and tries as hard
as she can to keep his body in contact with the power lines.
A moment later, the power plant explodes, sending both of
them flying back to the hill.
79.
EXT. HILL
Nigel is out cold, foaming from his moth. He has returned to
his normal size. Supergirl lies a dozen yards away from him,
in great pain. Her body is charged with electricity and
occasionally small lightning bolts spark through her body,
intensifying her pain.
The Omegahedron lies next to Nigel. Selena and Bianca
approach him. Selena grabs the Omegahedron. Bianca stares at
Nigel, giggles.
BIANCA
Nigel, you're hereby officially
relieved from your ball-handling
duties. From now on, you'll have
no balls.
SUPERGIRL
(weakly)
Give... it... to... me...
BIANCA
She's not dead.
(to Selena)
Kill her.
SELENA
I'm trying but it doesn't work.
BIANCA
I'll do it myself.
Bianca kicks Supergirl, but only hurts herself and gets a shock.
SELENA
Forget her. Let's get out of here.
Grab his leg.
Selena grabs one of Nigel's legs.
BIANCA
We're taking him?
SELENA
He's the only one who knows how
to use the shiny ball. I just
hope he's not dead.
Bianca grabs Nigel's other leg and then both drag Nigel away.
CUT TO Lucy and Jimmy running up the hill, they're about 50
yards away from Supergirl.

LUCY
You get the Omegahedron. I'll
check on Supergirl.
Lucy runs to Supergirl. Jimmy goes after Selena.
Supergirl tries to get up, but can't.
LUCY
Are you okay?
Lucy puts a hand on Supergirl's back and gets a shock.
SUPERGIRL
Need... grounding.
Supergirl crawls a couple of steps, and grabs a large piece
of metal stuck on the ground. Electricity shoots out of her
body and into the ground. It takes ten seconds for all the
electricity to leave her body.
Supergirl slumps back on the ground. Lucy tries to touch her
back again. This time she doesn't get shocked. She caresses
Supergirl's back.
LUCY
Better?
SUPERGIRL
Ugh. He was so strong... almost
killed me.
LUCY
Well, you kicked his butt.
SUPERGIRL
I just got lucky.
LUCY
What fight were you watching? You
wiped the floor with that guy.
Supergirl chuckles lightly.
EXT. HILL BASE
Selena and Bianca drag Nigel downhill. Jimmy catches up to them.
JIMMY
You two stop right there and give
me the Omegahedron.
Selena and Bianca stop. Selena holds the Omegahedron like a
gun, pointing it at Jimmy.

SELENA
Leave us alone or I'll use it.
JIMMY
You don't know how to use it.
BIANCA
But I know how to use this.
Bianca grabs a large branch and brandishes it like a sword.
JIMMY
Don't make me get rough, okay?
BIANCA
You wouldn't stand a chance. I'm
trailer-park trash, I know how to
defend myself from dorks like you.
Bianca and Jimmy circle each other for a moment. Then Jimmy
goes limp. Bianca hits him on the head and he goes down.
BIANCA
(to Selena)
You did that?
SELENA
(smiling)
Of course. Now let's hurry.
EXT. HILL - MINUTES LATER
Lucy helps Supergirl get back to her feet. Supergirl looks
dead tired and hurting all over. A moment later, Jimmy walks
into shot, holding his head.
LUCY
(to Jimmy)
What happened?
JIMMY
I'm not sure. One second I was
about to be a hero and save the
day, then my body goes limp and
the little sister hits a home run
with my head. I think Selena
learned how to use the Omegahedron.
SUPERGIRL
Did you see which way they went?
JIMMY
They were going that way.
(points)
But I'm sure they were going for
their car. After that I have no idea.

SUPERGIRL
I have to find them quickly.
LUCY
Shouldn't you rest for a moment
first? No offense, Supergirl, but
you look like you just got ran
over by a train.
SUPERGIRL
I feel worse than I look, but I
have to find them.
Supergirl takes off.
LUCY
Good luck.
INT. NIGEL'S CAR - NIGHT
Bianca drives the car. Selena sits on the passenger's seat,
holding the Omegahedron. Nigel is slumped in the back seat,
still out cold.
SELENA
I can see her. I know where she's
going. I can almost feel what
she's thinking. But I can't hurt
her. Damn. It's so frustrating.
BIANCA
Is she after us?
SELENA
She's flying around the city. I
doubt she even knows what the car
looks like now.
BIANCA
Where do we go now?
SELENA
There.
Selena points to an abandoned amusement park ahead of them.
BIANCA
An abandoned amusement park? How
delightfully Scooby-Doo of you,
Selena.
INT. ETHAN'S APARTMENT - NIGHT
Ethan paces the living room, worried as hell. He checks his
watch. It's 4:48 am.

Supergirl flies in through the balcony. She looks dead tired.
ETHAN
Supergirl, are you okay?
SUPERGIRL
Not really. I'm so tired...
ETHAN
Come on, sit down.
Ethan helps Supergirl to the couch. She can barely walk on
her own.
ETHAN (CONT'D)
I was so worried. I though he had
hurt you.
SUPERGIRL
He did. He nearly killed me. I
beat him, but lost the Omegahedron.
I've spent hours trying to find
them, but I can't go on. I'm way
too tired.
ETHAN
Okay, we'll get you to bed.
You'll get a good night's sleep
and tomorrow you'll continue with
the search.
Supergirl nods weakly. Then sighs.
SUPERGIRL
(talking to herself)
I just can't believe he was so
strong. I thought I was strong. I
thought I could overpower anyone.
Wow, was I wrong. He was so much
stronger than me. I kept punching
him and punching him but I
couldn't even erase the smile off
his face. And every time he hit
me it hurt so much. I thought my
body was going to break in half.
I don't think I can take another
fight like that one.
Ethan gets a really weird smile on his face. Sort of a
psychotic smirk.
SUPERGIRL (CONT'D)
But I should've known better,
right.
(MORE)

SUPERGIRL (CONT'D)
I can't depend on my strength to
get me out of every situation. I
should try to think my way out.
Supergirl notices Ethan's expression. She frowns.
ETHAN
You're such a wimp.
SUPERGIRL
What?
(stands up)
Ethan, why do you say that?
ETHAN
Such a pathetic, pitiful,
worthless wimp.
(stands up)
You get a black eye in your first
fight and you start blubbering
like it's the end of the world.
You're not a superhero, you're
nothing but a crybaby. Go cry to
your mommy superwimp.
(mock baby voice)
Mommy, mommy, the big, bad,
British guy hurt me.
(mock cry)
I don't wanna do this anymore.
SUPERGIRL
Who are you? Nigel?
ETHAN
Guess again.
Ethan punches Supergirl, manages to move her face but does
no actual harm.
ETHAN (CONT'D)
Damn. Why can't I hurt you?
Ethan punches again. Supergirl grabs his fist and pins both
his arms to his body.
SUPERGIRL
Leave him alone!
ETHAN
Do you know how simple it is to
kill a man? I could make him
swallow his own tongue. Or I
could just twist his neck around
and break it. Or I could --

Supergirl head-butts Ethan and knocks him out. Then she
lifts him and flies through the balcony.
INT. AMUSEMENT PARK
Selena and Bianca stand inside a large room in the amusement
park. Nigel lies inside a dog cage, out cold and wet.
Selena has the Omegahedron. Her eyes are closed in
concentration. Then she reacts like she was hit on the forehead.
SELENA
(rubbing her forehead)
Ouch. Damn. Ouch.
BIANCA
What happened?
SELENA
She head-butted him. Ouch.
BIANCA
She what?
SELENA
Head-butted him.
Selena demonstrates a head-butt.
SELENA (CONT'D)

I guess we'll just have to wait.
EXT. SKY ABOVE MIDVALE - NIGHT
Supergirl carries Ethan in her arms as she flies. His arm is
wrapped around her shoulders. His head hangs back. She lifts
him a bit so his head now rests on her shoulder. She enjoys
this. She caresses her cheek against his forehead with her
eyes closed and a smile.
EXT. A BEACH - DAWN
Dawn is breaking on a beautiful beach. Supergirl lands with
Ethan near some trees. She looks around for a good place,
and finds it next to a small creek. She gently places Ethan
on the ground. Then she gathers some leaves, makes a pillow
and rests his head on it.
She takes the hanky out of his back pocket, drenches it in
water from the creek, cools it with her superbreath, and
applies it on Ethan's forehead.
She looks dead tired. She lies down next to Ethan and closes
her eyes. A moment later she opens them again. She moves
closer to Ethan. Then a bit closer. Then she rests her head
on his chest. She smiles, closes her eyes and falls asleep.
EXT. A BEACH - AFTERNOON
CLOSE UP of Supergirl sleeping placidly on Ethan's chest.
She stirs a bit, rubs her cheek against his chest, smiles a
sweet smile.
Slowly PAN BACK to reveal Ethan's hand gently caressing her
back.

She opens her eyes dreamily. Then she realizes he's awake,
sits up with a jolt and backs away four feet, looking scared.
Ethan sits up.
SUPERGIRL
(apologetic)
I'm sorry I'm sorry I shouldn't
have. But I -- I was so tired...
and it -- it felt so nice and
warm... sorry. I promise never to
do it again.
ETHAN
(smiling)
Don't sweat about it. I kinda
enjoyed it. In fact, I've never
slept better in my life.
SUPERGIRL
Oh yeah. Sorry about that too.
Selena said she was going to kill
you and it was the first thing
that occurred to me. Are you okay?
ETHAN
Head hurts a bit. But it's not as
bad as when Selena was inside. I
felt like a puppet. I tried to
move my body but couldn't. Then
my mouth started saying all those
mean things to you and I couldn't
stop it. You know it wasn't me
who said all those things, right?
Ethan begins to inch his way to Supergirl. He's making his
move. He's still over three feet away from her.
ETHAN (CONT'D)
I'd never say anything like that
to you. I care too much about you.
SUPERGIRL
I know it was Selena. And she was
right. I was being a wimp. I was
getting down on myself because I
discovered the hard way that I
can't muscle my way out of every
problem and it scared me. But you
know what? I think I did pretty
well. It was my first fight ever
and I fought someone much
stronger than me and I beat him.
(MORE)

SUPERGIRL (CONT'D)
He hurt me a lot but no matter
how much pain I was feeling or
how weak I felt or how scared I
was, I always found the will and
strength to keep on fighting.
(smiling)
I'm very proud of myself.
He's two feet away now, and still getting closer.
ETHAN
You should be. You're Supergirl.
You can lift giant rocks and
smash them to bits. You can take
one on the chin and keep on
fighting. And when brute force
fails, you're smart enough to
find another way. I'm proud of
you, and I'm sure Superman would
be proud of you as well.
SUPERGIRL
(chuckles)
It feels so good to hear that.
ETHAN
I told you. I'm pretty good with
moral support.
SUPERGIRL
Yes, I feel very morally
supported right now.
Ethan is about to go for the kiss.
SUPERGIRL (CONT'D)
Thank you, Ethan. You're my best
friend ever.
Ethan freezes when he hears the word "friend." He looks like
he just got punched in the gut. Then he backs away a couple
of feet.
ETHAN
(wryly)
Good. Best friend. Yeah, I
suppose you're my best friend too.
SUPERGIRL
(smiles)
Really? That means so much to me!
Now it's Supergirl who inches her way to Ethan.

SUPERGIRL (CONT'D)
You've been so great to me, Ethan.
You helped me. You gave me food
and shelter. You even sleep in
that uncomfortable couch so I can
sleep in your bed. You talk to me
and make me feel good about myself.
Ethan notices her moving forward and he starts to move
forward himself.
SUPERGIRL (CONT'D)
You're so sweet and nice. You...
They kiss.
INT. AMUSEMENT PARK - AFTERNOON
Selena is trying to use the Omegahedron. Bianca sits on the
floor, tired of watching her sister fail miserably for the
last several hours. Nigel is still in the cage, out cold.
There's a large bucket full of water next to the cage.
SELENA
Abracadabra!
Nigel stirs inside the cage.
NIGEL
(weakly)
Aaaahhh.
BIANCA
He's waking up.
SELENA
What are you waiting for? Use the
bucket.
BIANCA
Okay.
SELENA
Hocus-pocus!
Bianca picks up the bucket and throws the water at Nigel,
who wakes up with a start.
NIGEL
Why? Where? What the hell did you
throw water at me for?
BIANCA
To wake you up.

NIGEL
(beat)
Oh damn. What a bloody headache.
What happened?
BIANCA
You got your butt kicked by a girl.
NIGEL
It was a SUPERgirl, if I recall
correctly, and I'd like to see
you try your luck against her.
BIANCA
Selena is doing just that.
NIGEL
Selena...?
Nigel tries to stand up, and notices the cage for the first
time.
NIGEL (CONT'D)
What the hell? Am I in a cage?
BIANCA
Yeah.
NIGEL
Why?
BIANCA
Because you're still useful.
NIGEL
Don't follow.
BIANCA
If you weren't useful you'd be in
a dumpster.
NIGEL
Oh.
(beat)
I don't suppose Selena would
consider giving me back the
Omegahedron, would she?
Bianca bursts into laughter.
BIANCA
You know, sometimes you're
actually funny.

NIGEL
Typical, isn't it? Life only
throws me a bone when it intends
to hit me on the teeth with it.
SELENA
Sycoraka f'kah s'koo!
BIANCA
(to Selena)
That's awful, that's never going
to work.
SELENA
I know. I ran out of good magic
words like an hour ago.
(to Nigel)
What am I doing wrong?
NIGEL
For starters, you put me in a cage.
SELENA
Nigel, I'm serious. I can easily
control his mind but I cannot
control hers or anything else. I
cannot even move my pen. What am
I doing wrong?
NIGEL
Whose mind did you control?
BIANCA
That dorky reporter on the hill,
and Supergirl's boyfriend. And an
hour ago she made me go buy her a
Happy Meal, though I'm not sure
that was the shiny ball.
NIGEL
Supergirl has a boyfriend?
BIANCA
Oh yeah. Selena controlled him
and made him say all sorts of
nasty stuff to Supergirl. Then
Selena was about to kill him by
turning his head around like in
The Exorcist, and Supergirl head-
butted him to knock him out.
NIGEL
(chuckles)
She did? Rather clever girl,
isn't she?

SELENA
Whose side are you on?
NIGEL
On the side of anyone who doesn't
put me in a cage.
BIANCA
And what do you think it's going
to happen if Supergirl ever gets
a hold of you?
NIGEL
I imagine she'd put me in a
bigger cage.
SELENA
Tell me what I'm doing wrong and
I'll let you out of the cage.
NIGEL
Yeah, right.
Nigel hits his head on the cage.
NIGEL (CONT'D)
Hey, stop that!
SELENA
You either get the carrot or the
stick, Nigel. Pick one.
NIGEL
Er...
(hits himself again)
Ouch!
SELENA
Pick faster.
NIGEL
Okay, okay, I'll tell you. Geez.
The problem is that you think
it's a magic eight ball. It's not.
The shiny ball isn't magical. It
isn't about incantations or magic
words or anything of the sort.
You can control minds because
you're doing it the right way:
you're projecting your mind on
top of the other person's.
SELENA
Then why can't I control her mind?

NIGEL
Because she's not human. Your
mind doesn't fit in hers.
SELENA
How can I move objects?
NIGEL
The same way you move your own
body. Just do it. Don't hocus-
pocus it. Don't imagine it moving.
Just do it. The Omegahedron
creates a connection between your
mind and the universe. It
literally turns the universe into
a part of your body. Just think
of the object as one of your
fingers and move it.
Selena concentrates and a second later the cage falls apart.
Nigel stands up.
SELENA
(smiling)
Any other piece of advice?
NIGEL
Yes. If you want to get rid of
Supergirl, you better do it
quickly. At the beginning of our
fight, she was a wimp. I could
barely feel her punches and I
could swat her around like a fly.
By the end she almost knocked my
head off with that uppercut. I
thought I was getting weaker, but
I was wrong. She was getting
stronger. Either that or she
learned how to throw a punch.
Probably both.
SELENA
What doesn't kill her makes her
stronger, right? Anything else?
EXT. BEACH - AFTERNOON
Supergirl sits on the ground, her back leaning against a
tree. Ethan lies with his head resting on Supergirl's lap.
They look like they have been a couple for years.

ETHAN
... and then you'll come home and
I'll say: "hi, honey, how was
your day?" and you'll say:
"mostly slow. I fought a dozen
evil demons from dimension XZY,
an army of giant mutant
encyclopedia salesman, and
generally saved the day a dozen
times. You know, a typical
thursday. How about you, honey?"
and I'll say: "well... I... er...
I fixed Mr. Jones' water heater
and I... er... unclogged Mrs.
Walter's toilet. And it was a
really big clog. I'm sure it was
some kind of a demon trying to
take over the world, so I
probably saved the day too."
SUPERGIRL
(chuckles, then more serious)
Do you... do you want me to stop
being Supergirl?
ETHAN
Don't even say that as a joke.
I'm not anywhere near that
selfish. It's just that you're a
superhero. I'm just a guy who
fixes faucets for a living. What
did I do to deserve someone like you?
SUPERGIRL
Well, you helped me, tended to my
wounds, lent me your bed and
behaved like a perfect gentleman
and friend, and that was even
before you knew I could beat you
up. You've always been there for
me. You talk to me and make me
feel good about myself --
ETHAN
Yeah. I get it. I'm a nice guy.
Perhaps I should be running
around the city wearing a costume
too.
SUPERGIRL
(serious)
What do you mean a "costume"?

INT. AMUSEMENT PARK
Selena is trying to use the Omegahedron again. Nigel and
Bianca stand by, watching her.
SELENA
(angry)
Aaarghh! They're too far away. Damn.
NIGEL
The strength of your control
depends on distance as well as
the complexity of what you try to
control. Controlling simple
metals is relatively easy even at
a great distance. Controlling a
human body is extremely difficult
even at close range. Though
controlling your own body is
rather simple for some reason.
SELENA
So what you're saying is that I
should try to control something
simple, right?
NIGEL
Exactly.
SELENA
What's the simplest thing around?
NIGEL
Think about the inside of
Bianca's head.
SELENA
(smiles)
Air.
BIANCA
Hey!
EXT. BEACH
Supergirl and Ethan sit facing each other as if discussing
battle plans.
SUPERGIRL
I think the Omegahedron creates a
link between the user's mind and
the molecules around it and I'm
almost certain the link goes both
ways.
She picks up a small rock and shows it to Ethan.

SUPERGIRL (CONT'D)
If he controls the rock and I
attack it,
(crushes the rock)
He'll feel it like I attacked him.
Worse, because I'll hurt his mind,
not so much his body.
ETHAN
So what are you going to do? Wait
till Selena controls something
and then kick the crap out of it?
SUPERGIRL
I suppose. When I attacked
Nigel's body I did nothing to him.
Or maybe I hurt him but he
repaired the damage quickly. But
when I attacked the Rock-men or
his head, I did hurt him. I hurt
his mind. And the electricity
affected him because it hurt his
mind as well. The user's mind is
the weakness of the Omegahedron,
I'm sure of it.
Slowly PAN away from them.
ETHAN
Now what? Are you going to go
after her?
SUPERGIRL
I can't. I don't know where she
is and I don't want to go looking
for her and leave you here alone.
She might hurt you if I'm not around.
FOCUS ON a small plant a dozen yards away from them. There's
some kind of weird mist moving around the plant.
ETHAN
Don't worry about me, just go
after her. I'll be fine.
SUPERGIRL
Are you sure?
ETHAN
Mostly.
PAN back to them. We hear air rushing.
Supergirl stands up, alert.

SUPERGIRL
Selena.
(to Ethan)
Stand behind me.
ETHAN
Okay.
Ethan stands up and steps some yards behind Supergirl.
Another rush of air and a whirlwind picks up Ethan and takes
him away.
ETHAN
Sup --
Supergirl turns around and sees Ethan being dragged away.
SUPERGIRL
Ethan!
She tries to fly after Ethan, but gets hit from the side by
an AIR MONSTER.
She lands back on the ground, unharmed. She turns around.
There are three Air Monsters surrounding her. The Air
Monsters are just a headless torso with four arms and no
legs. They are barely visible.
Supergirl charges one Air Monster but goes trough it. An Air
Monster attacks, but she dodges and flies after Ethan.
EXT. SKY
Supergirl is about to catch up with the whirlwind carrying
Ethan, when an Air Monster grabs her leg. Another Air
Monster hits her from above.
She tries to fight the monsters but can't find anything
solid to hit.
She uses her superbreath and solidifies one Air Monster. She
hits him and it shatters like ice. But a second later a new
Air Monster appears.
The fight continues for a minute. The Air Monsters are
neither solid nor strong enough to actually hurt her, but
she can't hurt them either and they can push her around
enough to slow her down, which was their real purpose.
The Air Monsters do their job and Supergirl loses track of
Ethan.
98.
EXT. ROOFTOP - LUCY'S APARTMENT
Lucy and Jimmy stand on the rooftop of her apartment
building. Jimmy has the long-distance lens on his camera,
following Ethan inside the whirlwind. Lucy has a map.
JIMMY
It must be moving at 300 miles
per hour at least.
(beat)
I think there's something inside.
LUCY
What?
JIMMY
Looks like a man.
LUCY
Must be Nigel. Where's it going?
JIMMY
It's moving west, I think.
(beat)
Now it's moving straight north.
(beat)
Lost it.
Lucy shows Jimmy the map.
LUCY
Where was it when you lost it?
JIMMY
I think here.
(points to map)
Going straight north. What is there?
LUCY
Nothing that I know of. Just
mountains... and an abandoned
amusement park here.
They exchange glances.
INT. AMUSEMENT PARK
Ethan comes flying inside the whirlwind. He comes to a stop
in the middle of the room and the metal around coalesce into
a large cage. Ethan stares at his three captors but doesn't
look concerned.
NIGEL
(to Selena)
He gets a big cage?

SELENA
I didn't know how to make cages
before. We had to use a real one.
BIANCA
Besides, he's much better looking
than you.
(to Selena)
Can I keep him? You know I always
wanted my own Ken doll.
SELENA
We'll see about that.
Nigel approaches the cage, he's a foot away from Ethan.
NIGEL
(to Ethan, smiling)
What happened? Cat got your
tongue? Aren't you supposed to
start yelling:
(mock macho)
You're not going to get away with
this, Selena, Supergirl will stop
you!
Ethan lands a quick jab on Nigel's nose through the bars of
the cage. Nigel staggers back, his nose bleeding.
NIGEL
Ouch! You son of a...! Oh damn!
(to Selena)
Would you mind killing the bastard?
Selena slowly walks to the same spot where Nigel was.
SELENA
I haven't decided what to do with
him yet. Should I pull his head
off and show it to Supergirl when
she comes by? Should I kill him
in front of her? Should I kill
her in front of him and turn him
into my boy-toy?
(beat)
What do you think, Ethan?
Selena gets closer to Ethan, smiling.
SELENA (CONT'D)
Aren't you going to punch me too?
Are you afraid of me?

ETHAN
(chuckles)
I'm kinda tired, so I'm going to
take a nap if you don't mind.
(sits down)
Wake me up after Supergirl wipes
the floor with you, okay?
Ethan leans back, closes his eyes, as if sleeping.
SELENA
(fuming mad)
I'm going to destroy her. I'm
going to crush every bone in her
body. I'm going to grind her
flesh into a hundred hamburgers
and feed them to him.
ETHAN
(eyes still closed)
Sure, let me know how that goes.
EXT. AMUSEMENT PARK - LATE AFTERNOON
Lucy and Jimmy arrive to the park in his car. Jimmy parks
near a low dune 50 yards away from the entrance. They get
out of the car.
LUCY
Shouldn't we call Supergirl?
JIMMY
Not until we're sure.
LUCY
Doesn't being sure imply being in
deep trouble?
JIMMY
Usually.
Jimmy searches the amusement park with the camera.
JIMMY (CONT'D)
You afraid?
LUCY
Of course. I'm scared to death.
JIMMY
Are you kidding? Lois would be
running in there trying to get an
interview.
LUCY
I'm not Lois, okay.

JIMMY
I've noticed.
Jimmy finds the room where Selena and the others are.
JIMMY (CONT'D)
Go back to the car.
He presses the button on his watch.
LUCY
They're here?
JIMMY
Selena had the Omegahedron. Nigel
is back on his feet. Bianca's
there too and... Ethan? I think
they have Linda's boyfriend as a
hostage.
LUCY
Is Linda there too?
JIMMY
Don't see her. I hope they didn't
kill her.
LUCY
Don't even joke about it.
JIMMY
I'm not joking. I kinda liked her.
LUCY
Really?
JIMMY
Of course, she's almost family.
LUCY
(smiling)
Are you proposing anything Mr. Olsen?
JIMMY
No, er... here comes Supergirl.
Supergirl lands next to them.
SUPERGIRL
You found Selena?
JIMMY
Yes.
(points)
And she has a hostage.

SUPERGIRL
I know.
LUCY
What are you going to do?
SUPERGIRL
Selena doesn't know I'm here.
Maybe I can surprise her and take
the Omegahedron.
Jimmy and Lucy get a blank look on their faces. Jimmy walks
behind Supergirl.
LUCY
But remember... Selena is
stronger and smarter than you.
SUPERGIRL
What?
Jimmy lands a double-fisted punch on Supergirl's back. Lucy
punches her in the stomach. Supergirl barely felt the
punches and isn't hurt. She takes a few steps back, decides
that it's pointless to fight Lucy and Jimmy and flies into
the park.
INT. AMUSEMENT PARK
Supergirl flies into the room where Selena and the others
are. Lucy and Jimmy follow her (flying too) and enter
Ethan's cage through the bars, Terminator-2 style.
SUPERGIRL
Leave them alone. This is between
you and me.
SELENA
Don't worry, I wasn't planning to
attack you with those wimps. I
have bigger things in mind.
A GIANT METAL ARM crashes trough the roof. Supergirl dodges
in time but gets hit by the second giant arm, which sends
her ten feet into the ground. A moment later she comes
through the ground and up through the roof.
EXT. AMUSEMENT PARK
A shot of the whole park. A 50-foot-tall METAL GIANT stands
above the large building where Selena is. Pieces of metal
from all the park rides fly to the Giant, completing its
human shape.
103.
Supergirl goes through the roof and lands an uppercut on the
Metal Giant, sending it staggering back into the Ferris
Wheel. She punches the Metal Giant a couple more times,
embedding it a dozen feet into the ground.
INSERT shot of Selena. She's in deep concentration, and
feels every hit on the Metal Man. Her nose begins to bleed.
BACK TO SCENE.
A large chunk of metal flies from another park ride and
smashes into Supergirl.
The Metal Giant stands up. It doesn't so much pull itself up
as it reshapes its body into a standing-up position.
Supergirl charges the Metal Giant again, but another large
chunk heads her way. She sees it and tries to kick it, but
the chunk splits at the last second and she misses. Then the
chunk reassembles itself behind her and hits her, sending
her toward the Metal Giant. The Giant lands a huge punch on
Supergirl and sends her crashing into the rollercoaster.
She's in great pain. She slowly gets back to her feet as the
Metal Giant lumbers toward her. She flies to the Giant,
avoids its jab and flies around it, intending to attack it
from behind. She's about to punch the Giant when another
hand grows on its back and grabs Supergirl. His other two
hands grab her as well and begin to crush her.
Supergirl is trapped by three Giant hands. She fights back,
and starts to bend the hands back. Then the whole Giant
wraps around Supergirl, forming a GIANT METAL BALL that
crashes into the ground. Then it rolls toward Selena.
INT. AMUSEMENT PARK
Selena bleeds from her nose and ears, but she's happy. The
Giant Ball crashes through the wall.
INT. METAL BALL
Supergirl is trapped, tired and hurt. She's running out of
oxygen. She tries to break free twice, but fails.
Then she gathers all her remaining strength and very slowly
starts to push the metal away from her body.
SUPERGIRL
(to herself)
You're not going to beat me!
INSERT shot from the first scene in ARGO CITY.

ZALTAR
We're dealing with a madman who
is about to obtain enough power
to conquer half the galaxy. This
is exactly the right time to be a
hero, and since I see no one else
volunteering I'd like to propose
myself for the job.
We HEAR the metal creak and shriek as Supergirl pushes it away.
SUPERGIRL
I can't let them down!
INSERT shot from the scene the beach.
ETHAN
You're Supergirl. You can lift
giant rocks and smash them to
bits. You can take one on the
chin and keep on fighting.
By now, Supergirl has given herself enough room inside the
Metal Ball. She begins to punch at the ball.
INT. AMUSEMENT PARK
Selena looks mad as hell. She focuses, trying to push the
metal back. We hear bangs and cracks as Supergirl tries to
punch her way out. The Metal Ball bulges and recedes. Selena
bleeds.
A moment later, Supergirl's hand breaks through and she
pulls open the ball. She falls to the ground, exhausted,
gasping for air. Selena slumps to the floor, exhausted and
bleeding profusely from ears and nose.
Slowly, Supergirl stands up. And so does Selena.
SUPERGIRL
Stop this, Selena. Look at
yourself. The Omegahedron is
killing you.
Selena touches her nose and wipes some of the blood off.
Then chuckles.
SELENA
Do you think I care about a
little blood? Do you think it's
going to stop me?
SUPERGIRL
I want the Omegahedron, but I
don't want to have to kill you
for it.
105.
SELENA
(crazy smile)
Well, Supergirl, I want the
Omegahedron and I want to kill
you too. I just thought you'd
like to know that. And after I'm
done with you, I'm going to turn
this stinking planet into hell
and I'm going to torture each and
every miserable being on it and
then I'll kill everyone.
NIGEL
(worried)
What do you mean "everyone"?
Selena's shape begins to change. She slowly turns into a
fifteen-foot-tall Liontaur. (A Liontaur is like a centaur
but with a lion's body and head.)
SELENA
I... mean...
(roaring)
EVERYONE!
Selena slowly walks toward Supergirl. A dozen chunks break
off the Metal Ball and turn into CANNONBALLS the size of a
basketball.
The Cannonballs attack Supergirl. She manages to punch and
kick away most of them, but not all. She punches a Cannonball
that hits Selena on the head, sending her staggering back.
Supergirl takes advantage and lands a couple of punches on
Selena's head. Then LIGHTNING BOLTS shoot from Selena's
hands and hit Supergirl, who crashes to the ground in great
pain.
Selena uses a couple more lightning bolts before Supergirl
can react. She rolls away from the lightning bolt, runs to
Selena and touches her. The electricity from Supergirl's
body rushes into Selena's and she screams in pain.
Then Supergirl lands a couple more punches on Selena,
sending her back a dozen yards.
Selena slowly gets back to her four legs. She glares at
Supergirl with evil eyes.
SELENA
This is how the fight will go
from now on --
The cage disarms and the bars wrap around the prisoner's
necks, choking them. Supergirl watches in distress.

SELENA (CONT'D)
I will hit you and punch you and
kick you and break every bone in
your body and you won't move a
muscle, understand?
Supergirl looks scared. Her arms drop to her side. She looks
back and forth between the prisoners and Selena, not knowing
what to do.
Selena's body begins to change. Most of her body mass shifts
to her right arm and torso, leaving the rest of her body
looking weak and skeletal. She walks slowly toward Supergirl.
The metal from the Metal Ball flies to form a large METAL
CYLINDER behind Supergirl. She still looks too scared to
move when Selena lands a massive punch that sends her into
the Metal Cylinder and through it. The Cylinder bulges as
Supergirl passes through it.
Supergirl lands ten yards away from the end of the Cylinder,
dazed and bleeding from the nose. A couple of her ribs are
broken. She stands up very, very slowly and painfully.
Selena walks to her.
NIGEL
Don't be stupid, Supergirl!
She'll kill everyone anyway!
A piece of metal ties itself around Nigel's neck, choking him.
Selena chuckles madly as she approaches Supergirl. Supergirl
is dazed, struggling to remain on her feet. She turns to
Ethan. His choke tightens a bit. She turns to Selena,
lumbering toward her. She closes her eyes, prepares for the
worst.
Selena cocks her massive arm. The Cylinder reassembles
itself behind Supergirl. Selena attacks.
In the last millisecond, Supergirl ducks the punch. She
jumps and lands a monumental uppercut on Selena. The Metal
Cylinder falls to the ground, and so do the pieces of metal
choking the prisoners. Supergirl continues to attack
Selena's head, which is mostly unprotected (she shifted all
her mass to her arm).
A few seconds later, the fight is over. Selena is too hurt.
She falls to the ground, shrinks back to her normal self.
The Omegahedron pops out of her chest.
Supergirl slowly walks to her, limping a bit, then she grabs
the Omegahedron.
CUT TO same scene as seen thought the Omegahedron. Noon
without shadows. Everything seems odd and highlighted with
bluish tones.

Supergirl sees Selena's injuries (her skull is cracked). She
focuses and begins to heal her.
BACK TO SCENE
Bianca rushes to Selena, covers her as to protect her.
Begins to sob.
BIANCA
Haven't you hurt her enough!?
Nigel pulls Bianca away.
NIGEL
Shut up, you twit. She's healing her.
BIANCA
Why?
NIGEL
Because she's an angel with a red
cape. Why did you think?
Supergirl finishes healing Selena and begins to heal herself
(she has broken ribs, a bruised nose, and many internal
injuries).
Selena sits up, looking angry. Bianca hugs her.
SELENA
(to Supergirl)
Don't think I won't kill you
because of this.
SUPERGIRL
You're welcome to try again as
soon as you're out of jail.
The prisoners approach Supergirl.
LUCY
Are you okay?
SUPERGIRL
(shows Omegahedron)
I am now.
Supergirl walks to Nigel.
SUPERGIRL (CONT'D)
Do you know how to create a portal?
NIGEL
What do you mean a portal?

SUPERGIRL
I mean a passage between two worlds.
NIGEL
Like a wormhole?
SUPERGIRL
Exactly. Do you know how to make
one with the Omegahedron?
NIGEL
I didn't know it could do that.
You sure it can?
SUPERGIRL
Brakko sent it to Earth through one.
NIGEL
Well, that thing's a prototype. I
bet it's recording everything
it's done so far. All you have to
do is check its memory banks.
SUPERGIRL
How do I do that?
NIGEL
Here, let me show you.
Nigel takes a step forth. Supergirl takes a step back, pulls
the Omegahedron away from him.
ETHAN
Don't trust him.
NIGEL
Do you think I'm going to pull a
fast one on you? After what you
did to me and to Selena, I have
no intentions of messing with you.
I know when I've lost.
Supergirl holds the Omegahedron with both hands and shows it
to Nigel. He touches it with one finger.
CUT TO Omegahedron view. They both see a collage of images
from everything that was done with the Omegahedron,
including Brakko sending it to Earth. The collage ends with
Zaltar in the Phantom Zone, bleeding and hurt.
Nigel recoils his hand and we return to normal.

SUPERGIRL
Zaltar!
(to Nigel)
Do you know how to create a
portal now?
NIGEL
(smiling warmly)
Sure. It's fairly simple. I just
thought you'd like to say good-
bye to your little friends before
I send you home.
SUPERGIRL
(smiles)
Thanks.
Supergirl turns around toward Ethan, Lucy and Jimmy, lowers
her guard. Nigel goes for the Omegahedron. As soon as he
touches it, a portal to the Phantom Zone appears, and
Supergirl gets sucked into it. Nigel tries to hold on to the
Omegahedron, but Supergirl keeps it. As soon as Supergirl
crosses the portal, it disappears.
NIGEL
Damn, she kept it. Oh, well, at
least that took care of her.
Nigel turns to the exit and begins to walk lazily away.
Ethan catches up to him and punches him in the face, sending
him to the ground. Ethan jumps on top of him and pins him to
the floor.
ETHAN
What did you do to her?!
NIGEL
I sent her to the Phantom Zone.
Ethan is about to punch him again. Nigel covers his face.
NIGEL (CONT'D)
Hold your horses, you idiot.
She's got the Omegahedron with
her. She'll be okay. She's a
smart girl. I'm sure she'll learn
how to create portals in a week
or two and she'll get out of
there unharmed. In the mean time...
Nigel pushes Ethan away and gets up.
NIGEL (CONT'D)
Bye-bye.

Nigel runs for the exit. Lucy grabs a piece of metal from
the cage and throws it at Nigel, tripping him. Nigel lands
painfully on the floor.
NIGEL (CONT'D)
Ouch.
EXT. PHANTOM ZONE - NIGHT
Supergirl falls through the portal into the a dark, gloomy,
deserted place. She hits the ground hard and the Omegahedron
slips from her hand. She sits up, looks around.
SUPERGIRL
(worried)
The Phantom Zone.
Supergirl searches for the Omegahedron, finds it and picks
it up.
CUT TO Omegahedron view. A bluish mist quickly escapes from
Supergirl's body (her energy). She focuses and forces some
of the energy back into her body and manages to keep it from
escaping any further.
She stands up and looks around with the help of the
Omegahedron. She finds Zaltar inside a cave a couple of
miles away. He looks badly hurt, as if someone had beaten
him. She takes off.
INT. CAVE
Supergirl lands near the cave's mouth and enters. Zaltar
lies next to the wall, barely conscious.
Supergirl focuses, starts to heal his wounds.
SUPERGIRL
Zaltar, it's me, Kara. Don't
worry, I'll heal you.
In a moment, Zaltar's wounds heal. He sits up.
ZALTAR
Hi, Kara. I'd like to say I'm
happy to see you, but I'm not
happy to see you here.
SUPERGIRL
Don't worry. I just came from
Earth and I managed to keep most
of my powers. And I have the
Omegahedron with me. It can
create a portal that can take us
back to Argo City. But... I don't
know how to create the portal.

ZALTAR
(chuckles)
My dear young Kara. After all
you've gone through to get this
far, are you really going to let
a tiny detail like that get in
the way of your triumph?
INT. COUNCIL CHAMBER - ARGO CITY - DAY
Brakko addresses the council. Alura and Zor-El are the
accused in some kind of trial.
BRAKKO
...as all the evidence presented
has demonstrated, Alura and Zor-
El committed the highest form of
treason against our people. And
so there can be no other possible
course of action but to sentence
them to the Phantom Zone --
A portal opens. Zaltar and Supergirl walk through it.
Supergirl holds the Omegahedron so everyone can see it. She
walks up to Brakko, grabs him by the shoulder, squeezes it
and pushes him to his knees.
Brakko is in pain. He tries to break free but can't. Then a
strangely calm expression crawls into his face.
SUPERGIRL
(to Brakko)
Earth says hi.
ZALTAR
So does the Phantom Zone, by the way.
SUPERGIRL
(to the Council)
Each and every one of you knew
Zaltar was innocent, yet you
condemned him to the Phantom Zone.
Each and every one of you knows
that my father has never said a
lie in his whole life. He'd
rather die than break his word of
honor. Yet you were about to
condemn him for a crime you all
know he would never commit.
(MORE)

SUPERGIRL (CONT'D)
And each and every one of you
knows that Brakko is nothing more
than a power-hungry madman who is
building this --
(shows the Omegahedron)
-- to take over Argo City, Earth
and probably half the galaxy. Why
do you let him get away with it?
Why do you fear him so much?
BRAKKO
(calmly)
Because they know what I'm
capable of.
Brakko produces a small device (the Omegahedron's remote
control). He presses a button on it and the Omegahedron
stops shining.
Supergirl releases Brakko, and takes two steps back,
panicking. She looks at the Omegahedron, focuses. Nothing
happens. She tries to reactivate it, but can't.
Then she composes herself, nonchalantly throws the
Omegahedron over her shoulder and shows Brakko her power stance.
Brakko stands up, chuckling and looking cocky.
BRAKKO
You have no more Earthly powers,
Kara.
SUPERGIRL
(confidently)
What makes you think I need any
powers to defeat you?
BRAKKO
This.
Brakko goes for Supergirl's neck, like he did back in her
house. Supergirl spins, pushes his arm away with her right
arm and lands her left elbow on his throat. Brakko doubles
over in pain. She lands a knee on his face that sends him a
couple of feet up in the air before landing flat on his back.
Supergirl pulls his arm and turns him so he's face down,
then twists his arm behind his back and pins his shoulder to
the floor with her foot. He struggles, but can't break free.
Supergirl has no powers, but she got a helluva workout on
Earth, so she's three times as strong as she was the last
time they met.

SUPERGIRL
(to the council)
Is this the man you fear? Is this
the monster that fills your
nightmares and makes you forget
your honor and betray your friends?
She elbows Brakko in the back of the neck, knocking him out.
SUPERGIRL (CONT'D)
Somehow I'm not impressed.
EXT. GRANDPA'S CABIN - DAY
Supergirl and Ethan sit on the porch of Grandpa's cabin. She
toys with the Omegahedron, which is active (shining).
SUPERGIRL
...and so they freed my parents,
gave Zaltar a full pardon and
sent Brakko and his men to the
Phantom Zone. All because I gave
a really good speech and kicked
some butt.
(beat)
Okay, it helped a bit that when
Brakko deactivated the Omegahedron,
he pretty much confessed to
having built it in the first
place. But it was mostly the
speech and the butt-kicking that
did it.
ETHAN
You really beat this huge monster
of a man without any powers?
SUPERGIRL
(proudly)
Yes, I did. Swept the floor with
him. Everyone was so impressed.
ETHAN
(poking fun)
Were they impressed by the butt-
kicking or just by the way you
look in your costume?
SUPERGIRL
(shoots him a look)
First of all, this is not a
costume. And second, I'm pretty
sure it was the butt-kicking that
impressed them.
(MORE)

SUPERGIRL (CONT'D)
(beat)
I'm so glad we watched that
Jackie Chan movie.
They both chuckle.
ETHAN
(beat)
Is that why you came back to
Earth? To tell me what happened?
SUPERGIRL
In part. I didn't want you to
worry thinking I was still
trapped in the Phantom Zone.
ETHAN
I was worried, but I knew you
could handle it.
SUPERGIRL
There you go, being all sweet and
morally supportive again.
ETHAN
I got it down to an art form by
now.
(beat)
What are you going to do with
that thing?
SUPERGIRL
I have to get rid of it.
She deactivates the Omegahedron with the remote control.
SUPERGIRL (CONT'D)
(re: the remote)
I'm keeping this one, though.
Just in case.
She stands up.
ETHAN
Wouldn't it be better if you kept
it? It seems rather useful.
SUPERGIRL
It's too dangerous. Way too
dangerous.
She takes a long wind-up and sends the Omegahedron straight
to the sun. She stares at it sorrowfully as it sails out of
the planet.

Ethan stands up and joins her.
ETHAN
Does this mean you're never going
back to your home?
SUPERGIRL
Yeah. I'll probably never see my
parents or Zaltar again.
Supergirl looks about to sob. Ethan wraps his arm around her
shoulders. She puts her hand on his back and rests her head
on his shoulder. They stay like that for a moment.
ETHAN
(upbeat)
So you're stuck being Supergirl, eh?
SUPERGIRL
(smiles)
Yeah. Don't get me wrong, I love
being just plain Kara. But I
really love being Supergirl.
They head for the cabin.
ETHAN
Oh, yeah. Gotta love it. Flying
around, saving the word. Lifting
giant rocks and smashing them to
bits.
SUPERGIRL
That one's getting a bit old,
don't you think?
ETHAN
Yeah, you really need to do
something else. I'm running out
of material here.
Supergirl stops walking, fakes being upset.
SUPERGIRL
Excuse me! I've fought air
monsters, rock-men, a giant metal
man. Not to mention Nigel and
Selena. And Brakko too. And I
beat them all.
Ethan moves to face her.
ETHAN
Yeah, you did. You're amazing.

He puts his hands on her hip. She puts her arms on his
shoulders.
ETHAN (CONT'D)
You know, you look so different
from the first time I saw you.
You've changed so much.
SUPERGIRL
Really? How?
ETHAN
You used to look, I don't know,
naive and insecure. Now you look
like you're in charge. Like you
can handle anything.
SUPERGIRL
That's how I feel. I've proven
myself. With all I've accomplished
on Earth, I feel I can take care
of anything life throws my way.
It might be difficult and painful
but I know I can handle it. I
love this feeling.
ETHAN
Of course you can handle
everything. You're Supergirl. You
can lift giant rocks and smash --
SUPERGIRL
(smiles)
Oh, shut up.
They kiss.
A beat. Then the camera starts to pull away.
ETHAN
I've been meaning to ask you
something: can I take a picture
of you and send it to all my
high-school classmates saying
you're my girlfriend?
SUPERGIRL
As Linda? Sure. In fact, I
encourage you.
ETHAN
Oh, okay.
FADE OUT.
