Sep-25-2005First off, here are some tests I've been doing with Text-To-Speech (TTS) engines, in hope of using a computer-generated voice for my upcoming fan films. So far I've found two TTS engines that sound a helluva lot better than I expected. One is from Acapela Group and the other is from ATT.
Lauren is clearly the best of ATT's voices. All of Acapela's voices sound stunning, although it might take me a lot of editing to give them emotions. I'm not sure I could get away with making a whole movie using TTS voices, but I think it's much better than using subtitles, don't you agree? The second part of the update is a very early first draft of the script for a fan film I'll be producing some time in the near future. The film is called "Being Supergirl" and it's essentially a monologue by Supergirl talking about herself, intercut with shots showing bits of action. Animating the monologue itself should be rather simple (it'll probably take me longer to render it than to animate it). But fitting the voice might be a pain in the butt. Although the greatest problem will be the action shots. Don't hold your breath, though. It might take me a while to finish it. |
