Supergirl Movies

These are the animations I've made so far. I'm constantly working on more of them, but it's a slow process so wait patiently. All the AVI's in this page are compressed with DivX so you'll need it.

If you don't feel like downloading codecs, and you happen to have Flash 8 installed, you might want to check out the Theater where you can watch some of the movies without having to download anything.

Animations

Robot (4733 kb)

A 73-second animation of Supergirl fighting a robot, with sound effects and even a soundtrack. The soundtrack is a modified version of "Raindrops" by Toby Emerson, which I got from an old copy of Fruity Loops.

NEW: I re-rendered this animation in Poser 6, so now it has shadows. I also compressed at 500kbps so it's quite larger than before.

NOTE: You can also watch this video at YouTube.com.

Giant (preview) (610 kb)

This is just the first 40 seconds of my next animation, where Supergirl battles a giant robot. Less than halfway completed, with no sound, but still worth taking a look.Rating: 9.84

Tests

Kara (68 kb)

This is a short animation made with Poser of Supergirl saying "I am Kara of Argo City..." I just wanted to test a little program I made to create the animation automatically (well, sort of). It came out rather decent if I say so myself.

Helen Slater's voice appears courtesy of the fact that her lawyer hasn't gotten a hold of me yet.

Walk (266 kb)

Supergirl just walks. That's it, she just walks. I was trying to see how natural Poser's walk looked and I rather liked how it turned out so I decided to post it here.Rating: 8.44

Trapped (1936 kb)

This is my first Maya animation. Supergirl is tied up with tough-looking titanium cables. She gets free, of course, but it takes her a little effort.Rating: 8.72

Caption (326 kb)

My second Maya animation. Okay, here's the story of this one: I'm going to make a long animation at some point. One with a plot and, of course, dialogues. The kick is that I have no idea how to get voice actors, so it occurred to me that I might get away with using captions instead of voices. Like in the video game. I do plan to get some voice actors at some point, but I figure it might be easier to convince the actors to do the voices for free if I have a completed animation that everyone loves before I try to contact them. That way, all they'd have to do is send me the mp3s with the voices and they'll get the credit.Rating: 9.14

Knock, Knock (873 kb)

Another Maya animation. The story is simple: Supergirl wants to enter the hideout of the evil mastermind; the ten-ton, foot-thick titanium gate doesn't want her to. You know what's going to happen.Rating: 9.27
