This is my first adventure game created with Adventure Game Studio. And as far as I know, it's the first Supergirl video game ever made. (Unless you count all the Supergirl mods and skins for various games like "Freedom Force," of course.)

In this game you play -- you guessed it -- Supergirl, who comes to this town and finds that the local hero is -- believe it or not -- Supergirl. Your mission is to find out what the imposter Supergirl is up to and put an end to her plans.

You'll need Windows (or a decent emulator) to get this game to work. Although there's a Linux port of AGS, I haven't tested it, so I don't know if it works.

The changes from version 1.0 include:

  • Improved sprites. I re-rendered almost every character in the game to eliminate the black outline. I also redid Supergirl's outfit a bit, so she looks better now.
  • Improved backgrounds. I redid most of the backgrounds. They might not be better, but they're much more compressible so now the file is much shorter.
  • Added props. I added a whole bunch of decorative props all over the game. They don't alter it in any way, but now the rooms don't look so bare anymore.
  • Four new rooms. I modified the ending, adding four new rooms (and four new puzzles) inside the industrial complex.
  • Three new characters. Also added to the ending.

The download comes in two versions. The first one is compressed with Winrar, so you'll need it. But if you don't have Winrar, you can download the ZIP version. It's a bit bigger, but the contents are identical.

The game has no actual installation. To make it work, just download either the ZIP or the RAR version, unpack the files somewhere in your hard drive and run Supergirl.exe. Reading the Readme.txt file won't hurt either.

Download RAR version (2.63MB)

or

Download ZIP version (3.14MB)

If you need some help with the game, here are some hints.

Just in case you have any doubts, the game is indeed FREEWARE. It'd be illegal for me to try to sell a game containing a copyrighted character anyway. In fact, I'm not sure it's legal even as freeware, so if you're a lawyer or work for DC Comics, and know for a fact it's illegal for me to do it, let me know immediately.

If you're interested in creating your own Supergirl game, AGS is freeware and relatively powerful and easy to use. You'll need some programming experience in order to use it, though, but AGS is extremely popular and there are tons of people willing to help. Of course, if you're writing a Supergirl game, I'll help you any way I can (Poser sprites, programming, tips, tools, story, etc.).
